- Sameer K1 contributionI had a great tour with Walter who was our driver and guide. Two days is a perfect amount of time to experience all the sights along the Great Ocean Road. Walter is knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the spots.
The itinerary was great as we were able to skip crowds and rush at most places - often the spots get crowded because of day trippers.
It can get a bit tiring as the spots involve a lot of walking.
The overnight stay at Apollo Bay YHA was great as well.
Even as a solo traveller, I didn’t feel left out. Everyone with me was great to talk to and interact with.

- susan m32 contributionsThe weather was a bit soul destroying, but our guide James kept us in high spirits. I can only imagine how beautiful this place would be in the summer time. At least with the 2 day tour, we had the luxury of waiting for gaps in the weather rather than getting soaked to the bone at each location. It was torrential. - Josiane GYorkshire, UK12 contributionsWe were the first group to go on the three day Great Ocean road trip offered by Around and About. They also offer one and two day trips along the Great Ocean Road which are probably very good, but we felt the one that we did enabled us to see things without being rushed.
Walter, our driver and guide, was excellent. He knows the area well and was able to show us many of its secrets. Highlights were the Twelve Apostles, the Otway National Park Treetop walk, the beautiful beaches and a visit to a chocolaterie and a lighthouse .
The accommodation was simple but comfortable and at the second night hostel there were very good value pizzas available if you didn’t fancy going out to eat.
Walter’s timing was spot-on (an early start every morning meant we arrived at each beauty spot before they were crowded) and as a result there were plenty of opportunities to admire stunning views from look outs in addition to the highlights mentioned above. Very welcome were the hot drinks, cakes and fruit that water served each morning, all included. There were also options for a helicopter flight and a zip line experience in the forest.

I knew they would be good on the great Ocean Road, given that would seem to be their main market, but they still gave us an excellent tour to Phillip island as well.
They were also quite flexible when we contacted them, as we wanted a ‘day off’ to explore Melbourne, so we did the tour to phillip island on the Monday, explored Melbourne by ourselves on Tuesday, and then went on the 2 day portion of the tour to the great Ocean Road on Wednesday and Thursday, which all worked out well.

I think the average person would be happy with 2 days, but we had extra activities that we wanted to do that we had read about (I.e. zip lining and horse riding) which Jamie fitted into our schedule seamlessly, with use of the extra 3rd day. - RodS856114 contributionsMy wife and I did this small group tour in Jan 23. The trip exceeded our expectations in every respect. Our guide, Pierre, was first class and went out of his way to ensure everybody had the best time. The accommodation was excellent, meals were great and the scenery was magnificent. It was very relaxing to sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery which seemed to get better and better. Finishing the tour with the Grampians was also wonderful and very relaxing. Pierre was an absolute gentleman and his knowledge of the area and its history was exceptional. Highly recommend this tour.
