Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful local and overseas photography and quaint little collections of objects like cameras and other bits and pieces to browse. Norm was friendly and informative. He opened for us to have a look as we were not here in a busy period and had given the contact number a call to enquire if open.

My wife and I walked along the full length of this Boardwalk to Chinaman's Creek, crossed the road to walk up a hill to Cantrill's Lookout to enjoy the scenery and take a few photographs.

Then, we walked back to the town centre and walked to the end of the road at Shaving Point Reserve. After that, we walked to the local park, called Patterson Park.

This is probably the longest Boardwalk that we have walked on. It is excellent.

This was a great sailing trip with family and friends. The staff at Riviera Nautic are helpful and they now their stuff. We have sailed with them a lot of times now oner 30 years and the service is great all the time. We can't wait to go again.

My wife and I walked here from the town centre, around 2 km each way. We crossed the road to walk up a hill to a lookout called Cantrill's Lookout to enjoy the views of Metung from a hill.

It is a pleasant place to visit. We stayed in Lakes Entrance for five nights.

My wife and I visited this place recently during our holiday in Lakes Entrance where we stayed for five nights in an apartment at The Esplanade Resort and Spa.

We drove here from Lakes Entrance and walked a few kilometers across the whole area of Metung, to enjoy the scenery and the exercise.

My wife and I visited this place recently during our holiday in Lakes Entrance where we stayed in an apartment for five nights at The Esplanade Resort and Spa.

We drove from Lakes Entrance to Metung and walked around 7 kilometers in total to see all the highlights of Metung and enjoy the exercise.

We liked this part of Metung. It is scenic and peaceful. We also saw Shaving Point Reserve from a Boat Cruise two days before our visit.

So firstly ... where is this? I would follow Metung Road until it's conclusion at Shaving Point Reserve... as you are leaving Shaving Point reserve, there is some car parking on the left about 500 metres after leaving the Reserve... there are bushes and I can't recall seeing any signage from the road indicating this silhouette is there. But park at that parking ... walk to boardwalk, there is an information sign there and you will see it from there. It's easy to walk to, although the path is like most beach paths... au natural- so not sure how easy this would be for mobility aids.

It is less than a minute from the carpark to walk to the silhouette and there are information signs. From here you look at at Boole Poole and there was a family of swans there the day I stopped to have a look.

But about the silhouette? This is a silhouette of the Charles Edward, an iron hulled paddle steamer built in Dumbarton, Scotland in 1864.The placard explains that the "129 foot 185 ton ship, with a 60 hp motor, was built for the Gippsland Steam Navigation Company, later to be named The Gippsland Lakes Navigation Company. Having suitable accommodation in the saloon for passengers, she became the first regular steam ship between Melbourne and the Gippsland Lakes.

I feel it is worth stopping to learn a bit of the history of the area... and to be perfectly honest, it's a beautiful place to spend a few moments at.

My wife and I walked along the full length of the Boardwalk from town to the end where Chinaman's Creek is located. During the walk, we saw this rock. There was a Cormorant bird perched on it.

Completely rebuilt jetty leading into Lake King. Picnic tables overlooking the jetty and lake. Good toilet facilities and car parking.

This is another beautiful area in Metung to relax and watch the world pass you by... a lovely expanse of green between the stores and the pub- adjacent to the pier. You could bring a rug and your lunch and take advantage of the view.

Gayle is spectacular! The massage was perfect. The location is an easy stroll from town, so you can treat your body to a walk along the boardwalk before or after your massage. Gayle is a wealth of knowledge and a definite treat for your body!

Enjoyed our visit today for 18 holes at Metung Country Club. Such welcoming staff and a gorgeous little course which challenged and entertained us. The greens are in really good condition. Lovely fairways and ponds with plenty of bird life. Improvements are being made and it would be well worth another visit some time soon. We enjoyed a cup of tea halfway round and then a glass of wine at the end. Finally, we popped to the hot springs afterwards which was a great way to relax. Once the upgrade is finished, we would suggest some slightly better pull trolleys and maybe a couple of electric trolleys for us oldies who wanted to walk. Thanks!
