Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To one side there is the railway station, bus interchange and parking lot and to the other there is Croydon Park. On the street itself there are many shops, cafes, restaurants with just about everything you need. You can see what is there and you do not have to cross a parking site to get to them.

The lake and pathways that circle the nature reserve are a treat - so nearby and easily accessed and such a relaxing setting. Birdlife abounds and there are many opportunities to take photos highlighting the reflections in the water. I intend to visit with a sketchbook.

Walking or cycling along this Trail is easy. It is well made and very flat. It travels through a number of parks, which offer toilets and bring you close to shops and connecting roads. There are many bird species along the way and some interesting vegetation, especially in the Town Park in Croydon.

July is too early to see the wildflowers, but the sanctuary does look very interesting. It is located right next to the railway line. There are old trees and much other vegetation.

Warranwood Reserve in Warranwood is a council reserve located on Bemboka Road and occupies 11 ha (27 acres) along a creek and is mostly covered by natural bushland consisting of 181 species; a number of plants on the site are of regional conservation significance.
It has the largest intact Box-Stringybark Woodland in Maroondah and is also home to a specimen of Red Box eucalypt that is notable for its size and age. The tree is on top of the hill, at the highest point of the reserve. The land is designated as a ‘Land for Wildlife’ property
The most recent fire going through the whole reserve was recorded in 1962.
In 1981, the Warranwood Reserve Committee of management was formed and looked after the reserve, undertook planting and installed bridges and seats.
A community centre was built in the southeast corner of the reserve, which has mainly been used as a kindergarten.
Work has since been undertaken to construct paths, erect fencing, alleviate erosion and control weed infestation from the surrounding developments.
Good parking. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.

The new playground is great for kids of all ages with lots of equipment, a parkour course and a skate park. Footy/cricket oval next door and plenty of walking paths. Very close to Croydon Main St shops and cafes.

This is a great reserve which is located at Webster Avenue in Croydon. It occupies 1.5 ha (3.7 acres) and is a major flora sanctuary in the birdlife corridor in Croydon. Fortunately, the reserve is managed with a focus on conservation of indigenous flora rather than for recreational purposes and they do a wonderful job.
There are over 100 indigenous plant species can be found in the reserve, three of which are significant at wider regional level, with another 16 rare and significant within Maroondah. Among those, the White Stringybark Eucalypt and the Common Bird-orchid are of particular interest. Names after John Grandfill who was an early settler in the area and purchased the land at the start of the last century.
Nice place to come for a picnic or a walk. Please take your rubbish home. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking.

The reserve occupies 1 ha (2.5 acres) on the Wicklow Hills ridge. It has a 1200m2 lawn area at the site of a reservoir that has since been filled in, and the remaining area supports natural vegetation. There is a network of paths crossing the reserve. Having been assessed as having conservation significance at the local level because it is the only bushland area in a neighbourhood with little or no other bushland and is home to many White Stringybark eucalypts which are rare outside Maroondah.
Originally, the reserve was the site of a reservoir owned by the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works (MMBW) not Yarra Valley Water.
Council has owned and managed the land since 1974, which is when the reservoir was filled in and replaced with lawn area.
Extensive weed removal and revegetation works aimed at restoring the natural bushland have been the focus of Council’s management of the reserve, and this strategy has led to a gradual improvement of the site’s quality.
Well worth a visit to explore. Wheelchair friendly. Good friendly. Good parking.

The wildflower sanctuary of similar name is about 400 metres West of here. This park has a lot to like, but is different in character. It has a grassed playing field, children's playground, a basketball court, BBQs, a shelter, picnic tables, walking trails. Old trees complete the picture. It is a beautiful spot.
