Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Artspace Gallery holds one of Melbourne's most extensive municipal art collections The gallery is particularly rich in paintings from the late 18th century and early 20th century. The Arpspace Gallery openned in 2007. The collection contains more than 1,700 artworks of varying genres. The Town Hall is classified by the National Trust. It was completed in 1935 and remains one of Melbourne's most significant heritage buildings; it is still in frequent use for civic events.

Current Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in Melbourne allow travel up to 10 kilometers from our house to local parks for exercise.

My wife and I drove here for some exercise, fresh air and sunshine.

We walked around the 1 km walking trail a few times.

This is a well maintained and relatively large park with a playground, a pond and some facilities for sports.

This shopping centre has recently been expanded. The new extension has a new Coles Supermarket, a Chemist Warehouse, new restaurants and a few other shops. The previous Coles Supermarket was closed permanently when the new location opened.

My wife and I continue to visit this place once every three weeks, to buy some groceries and have lunch at one of the restaurants.

Cycling into Box Hill from Balwyn on this path is a great way to spend some quality outdoor time, taking in the shaded fresh air this parkland has to offer.
At times, I just walk the bike though this parkland, and calmly take in the quiet........very nice

Every Sunday and Wednesday the friendly model boat enthusiasts bring their models down to cruise around the old quarry lake. From speedboats to steam and sail powered they kept our grand daughter busy for about 20 minutes before we had to go to the playground and it really has everything a 3 yo would want - big spiral slide, a wooden ship with slides, climbing nets and a bridge then there are the swings and a mini maze. To top it all off there are free bbq's and a covered seating area. I can understand why it is popular for kiddies parties.

It is rare when you can point to a time and a group who changed the world of art. Between 1885 and 1888, a group of young artists would camp and paint in the bush near Box Hill, perfecting an innovative school of art called "Impressionism." This changed Australian art. The names will be familiar to art lovers -- McCubbin, Streeton, Roberts, and Conder, among others. It was probably the last school of art that was genuinely beautifiul. You can see these early works in the Whitehorse Artspace Gallery, part of the Box Hill Town Hall.

Lovely safe park in beautiful surroundings for kids to explore. Its structures were designed in Denmark and are different to your usual run of the mill park. There is also a colourful gated park for toddlers.
Great for a picnic but there are no toilets.

Home of the Box Hill Hawks (formerly Mustangs) who are the reserves team for AFL heavyweights Hawthorn. Great place to visit to see the up and coming players. Overflow parking across the road at Whitehorse Reserve.

TIP: take 109 team and than walk from terminus.. closest train station is Laburnum (400m) or hop off at Box Hill and grab a bite of Asian food.

In the middle of a busy suburb call Box Hill which is going to be the second CBD in Melbourne, this garden is a gem.
It is adjacent to the best large Australian Vocational Training of 2016, Box Hill Institute.

It has park benches, children playground and walking paths surrounded by trees and shrubs.

Great place for kids during school holidays. Pumped up is a place for the children to jump around. Friendly staff too.

Have bought a hand made pottery plate as a gift, hand made and looked like an aboriginal inspired design. Some great local art on sale here and a great community hub. Art classes for kids and adults are of high demand.

We come here all the time with our dogs, it is great! Only this extra it needs is a bin. Just one, it would make it more pleasant than carrying that dog poo home.
