What travellers are saying
- KarynCoventry, UK196 contributionsParked in the car park 150m from Cave entrance , down some steep steps and you are there, Cave staff are great, we were greeted by Fraser & Callum, we paid for a guided tour into cave by boat, (you can just look around for free, but wont get the info or boat into caves) Callum took us, what a lovely funny knowledgeable young man , explains all about the caves and the work currently happening to create another opening in the cave system, all in all a great wee trip, and the walk back up, its steep (and around the cliffs if you want to) are amazing, stunning views, shout out for little cafe, Spar, & toilets close by, also mention to Fraser for his unexpected selfie only spotted on our phone after he took a photo of us haha thanks for the info guys and the work in preserving this magnificent cave ,

It was a lovely calm day and 9 of us in total did the morning trip. Stuart our minibus driver was exceptional from his great commentary and humour keeping us well entertained and informed on the journey there and back. An hour each way, with his excellent driving skills navigating the narrow and bumpy roads with tight bridge crossings.
Such big thanks to Stuart and the ferryman for such a great day.Written 2 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A beach for short or long walks and there is also a ruined church with a pretty graveyard to wander around. The views out to sea are amazing and is well worth a visit.Written 9 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JPWHamilton, UK85 contributionsGorgeous sand, aqua blue water, crystal clear!
Fabulous rock pools and rock formations!
The dunes are lovely too.
Small car parking area at the beach, but some more on the hill prior to coming down the hill.
Beware of the clear jelly fish - looks like little cubes of ice!Written 16 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The road, just a few feet away was so quiet after about 8/9pm. High season may be totally different. This layby comfortably took 7 motorhome/campervans and the view out the front window was idyllic - like something on a Caribbean Island! Just a couple of miles down the road was ample free parking for Smoo Cave - a must see.Written 19 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Grace H1 contributionVery interesting and interactive museum. Well laid out and everything is explained very clearly and also in great detail. We also went on the Eilean Dubh walk with Bjorn which was fascinating, he was very informative and happy to answer all our questions. Really recommend this museum and a walk if you have time!Written 12 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jakegerzimbkeNottingham, UK27 contributionsA beautiful mountain to climb, and the wide valley beneath is only its equal. The manner in which Scotland's north-western coastlands unfurled themselves, a dreamscape stretching out to the horizon bounded by endless seas, as we climbed - this lives in my memory forever as a vista panoramica beyond compare. The descent, though easy, was hard on the soul.Written 20 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janet B3 contributionsThis memorial garden and village hall was a long way out of Durness. So got there eventually. It was winter so garden looked bare. Glad we went though.
