What travellers are saying
- Michael HMartock, UK593 contributionsAn excellent NT property with an attractive house, inside and out, and good woodland gardens and extensive parkland. While only the ground floor of the house is available to visit, the rooms contain several items of interest, inevitably paintings also ceramics donated by the family with the house. Undoubtedly the most distinctive and noteworthy feature of the house is the internal ceilings - remember to look up! The best view of the house is from the lawns at the front. There are terraces and woodland walks to enjoy. Plenty of car parking about a 5 minute walk to the house and a buggy service, volunteer availability dependent.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jill LTotnes, UK10 contributionsHistoric Canal Basin at the beginning of the 13-mile Grand Western Canal. Reasonable amount of paid for parking. Good for disabled with accessible toilet in car park, and ramp up to canal. Picnic tables, children’s playground, museum, boat hire, coffee barge, and start of horse-drawn canal boat trip. Young and old will enjoy, with beautiful walk on tow path.Written 20 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dorine SDen Bosch, The Netherlands24 contributionsWe had a very interesting evening with Kevin. He knows everything there is to know about badgers and told a great story when we were waiting for the animals. The badgers are beautiful to see in real life. Really amazing creatures. I would recommend it to any nature lover. It’s a bit difficulty to get there, but worth the drive.Written 25 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jojolunaBerwick upon Tweed, UK21 contributionsWe really enjoyed our visit. Simon gave a detailed and informative account of how sparkling wine is made and was happy to answer all our questions. The tour was followed by a delicious cream tea with a glass of the wine with a chance to chat to the other attendees.Written 9 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martyn SPainswick, UK57 contributionsWe called into St Peter’s en route to the castle. It is definitely not a run-of-the-mill country church. It is unusually wide, and has several interesting features.Written 30 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
