Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is now called The Village Antique and Home Decor Mall. This mall has lots of vendors and is easy to maneuver. It is clean and has a great selection of affordably priced items. The team working there is amazing, knowledgeable and helpful.

Love shopping at Duck Crossing. Always stop in when I'm in the downtown. Excellent selection and great prices and I find the staff to be friendly and helpful. For me its a trip down memory lane. So many things there that remind me of my childhood

Tremendous tour of Carter Mansion...props to Taylor Moorefield for a most informative and enjoyable tour. Carter Mansion the oldest frame house in Tennessee. As always, the backstory surrounding those who lived in the house is what makes a tour special and this one delivers. From handwriting on the wall before soldiers arrived to wallpaper INSIDE a closet door to mysterious paintings on the wall and a cabinet that is part of the wall...this was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

The Corner Nest is a huge antique mall with many vendors. They have a variety of old & new. It is very nicely decorated throughout. They have everything from old tools to clothes. You name it you can probably find it there. Pop & Robin run (own?) the place & they are the nicest people! Stop in & shop around for awhile. You are sure to find something you can’t live without!

My friends and I were visiting Asheville for my bachelor party, which was focused on outdoor activities. I found Worley’s Cave by doing some online digging, about 1.5 hours north of Asheville. I was super excited to find this non-commercialized cave to explore.

I thought about going without a guide as I had a little caving experience, but thought it would be best to go with a guide since the other guys were not too experienced. I was quickly disappointed when I realized most of the guide companies were opening up their trips to over 30 people! I felt it wouldn’t quite be the experience I was looking for if there were that many people involved.

HOWEVER, just when I was about to give up, I was lucky enough to find Appalachian Underground, which is available for private tours. I began an email conversation with Mel, who was super friendly, thorough, and quick to respond. We booked on Saturday for just 4 of us.

We met Jon at the cave around 11:30. We were a bit late due to some early morning setbacks, but Jon was very patient and understanding. We were a surprised at the number of cars in the parking lot, but it ended up not being an issue at all, as the cave is massive!

Jon had all of the gear ready for us, including snacks and super cool fanny packs! Upon entering the cave, we were blown away by Jon’s knowledge of the history and geological features. He has been leading groups into the cave for 23 years, and it shows! He let us create our own expedition, so to speak, based on our sense of adventure. In all, we spent about 3 hours in the cave, which was just enough time.

On the way back to Asheville, we were all talking about how kind and genuine Jon was. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide!

I’m looking forward to returning to Worley’s Cave in the future and will absolutely 100% use Appalachian Underground.

    Thanks for everything!
