Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- ClaireAWhaley Bridge, UK5 contributionsFabulous beach, remote and beautiful.
A shame the time and tide bell didn’t work.
We waited for two high tides and nothing occurred.
Hopefully it won’t entail too much work to get this amazing artwork functioning again, as it would make visiting even better.Written 18 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Julie PUnited Kingdom2,013 contributionsIn 1951 this bridge was built, finally linking the Isle of Lewis to Great Bernera. These days there are two bridges side by side, and the original bridge has become pedestrian only.
There is car parking just across the bridge on the Bernera side. It's also the parking for Callanish VIII a.k.a. Cleitir stone circle which sits just above the bridgeWritten 19 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
