Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- suellynhineNewcastle, Australia246 contributionsBeautiful scenery to take in on the 2km walk to the mountain, the track is well maintained, a lot of steps but not to steep. Toilets and plenty of parking at the rest area at the base of the mountain .Written 13 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EllaDee011Macksville, Australia605 contributionsWestern foreshore has so many site options for unpowered camping, it was hard to choose. For our 3 night stay (too short) we stayed in our self-contained caravan just down the hill from the kiosk and amenities block near the foreshore. Bonus there are taps everywhere so for fresh water. Lots of walks, birds and wildlife. Dog friendly. Beautiful sunsets.Written 27 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephen WEast Maitland, Australia4 contributionsA great day out. Modern facility with a range a wide range of military aircraft, many in airworthy condition. We were very impressed with the staff who are pleased to help you in any way during your visit and enjoy chatting and helping you get the most from your visit. Super cafe with viewing areas to relax and enjoy the rural airport setting. The facilities and exhibits were immaculate. We will be returning.Written 22 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Gardengirl212Sydney, Australia1,954 contributionsVisitor Information Centres are always our first stop and are not only a wealth of printed information and great maps but staff are always helpful and friendly.
Scone is no exception - we were well advised of all Scone had to offer by a very knowledgable lady who made brilliant suggestions for us regarding our interests and time available. One of these suggestions was visiting the Washing Pools - an absolute hidden gem we were thrilled to visit and photograph and another was Burning Mountain Walk - another fantastic and interesting experience.Written 5 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They washed the two little ones nappies in the water, while we were having a dip. My husband wife got out and had a brown surprise in her hair, not very nice. Apparently this happens quite often with other dirty visitors and their kiddies.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gardengirl212Sydney, Australia1,954 contributionsWe love smashing out some laps in the pool for exercise and always seek out the public pool on our travels.
Scone Memorial Swimming Pool was one of the best we've ever swum at. The pool water was not only spotlessly clean and clear, but the temperature was perfect - crisp and cool. Plus it was the cheapest entry fee we've encountered: $4.60. Staff were also wonderful, very friendly.Written 6 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - MimSydney, Australia88 contributionsA highly disappointing experience with accommodation. The cabin was neglected and in dire need of maintenance.
To excuse the condition of the cabin, a note was left on the fridge to say renovations were planned for the future .. that should be no excuse for a poorly maintained and dirty cabin when Reflections charge their guests top dollar!!
Pros
*Lake Glenbawn is a beautiful spot for water sports
*The BBQ areas between cabins
Cons
*Dirty and poorly maintained cabins
*Cobwebs everywhere and maggots in the windowsills (the volume indicates several months of accumulation) .. I live on acreage and it would take a year of neglect for this volume to appear
*A double bed in the master (not practical for 2 adults)
*The cabin sleeps 6 but the lounge sits only 3 people (& there's seating for 2 on the outside deck) .. not sure where they expect the other guests to sit
*Walls are dirty, mouldy, rotten and with holes
*Blinds are broken
*There's no after hours contact, so when neighbours keep you up at night with parties / music, there's no one to contact
*Other cabins had washing machines in them (not ours)
*Shower was exceptionally tiny, no room to move, with a shower curtain that had mould at the base.
*A small bodywash container was used as a door stop for the door to the 2nd bedroom.
*Sliding door creaked and wouldn't seal properly.
Overall, the cabin was dirty, neglected and in desperate need of maintenance. If Reflections didn't charge the high prices they do, I wouldn't be so disappointed. But just under $1,000 for 5 nights at a camp-site is a ridiculously expensive amount.Written 8 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bill R5 contributionsWhat can I say. This place is one of the best places I've ever visited . The food was absolutely yummy, the staff were fantastic, especially Katrina. What a lovely person, with a personality to die for. I've never come across a person who enjoyed her work so much. The people of Scone seem to be so happy. What a community.Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
