Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Knowledgeable, passionate staff, saw whales but no dolphins which was surprising as the first time I went with this business there were a lot! Lots of whales however, mum's and calves ❤️

The skipper Simon was so patient and we ended up having a fantastic cruise. A mother and calf put on a show for us. The boat was comfortable and handled the conditions beautifully. I highly recommend whale watching in Merimbula

Booked a 3 hour private charter for our family group including 5 young children.

Everyone had a blast. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather and lots of fish - mostly flathead.

Scott was super helpful given most of us had no clue about fishing and gave us all the assistance we needed!

A really wonderful morning out on the water.

What an experience Reel Affair was! Captain Phil was more than happy to accomodate me and my small family (8 years and 16 months).
Both Phil and Ryan had outstanding service and we couldn’t have been happier with their hospitality. I highly recommend this charter for any families who wish to get a line in the reef! Seeing the Whales, seals and Rays was also a nice little extra highlight to our adventure!

Faster newer boat than the competition. Half a dozen fish in the bucket before the other mob even pulled up for the first time makes for longer time the lines in the water between this and every spot. The guys running it were professional courteous knowledgeable who removed all catches and distributed gutted and cleaned at the end of trip. Would definitely choose again. Bucket loads of fish and fun had by all.

From the air you can fully appreciate why this is known as the Sapphire Coast, we were blessed with perfect weather and clear waters.

Pilot William was a great tour guide, we loved the sensational views, this is an absolutely stunning part of our coastline.

Tracey, the owner & chief pilot, was a pleasure to deal with.

Thank you Tracey & William for the memories my son & I now share 💜

Thank you Martin for a really interesting tour. Hard to comprehend how much labour goes into farming oysters. Fully understand now why they’re expensive. The samples at the finish of the tour were delicious. We had fish n chips the next day there plus bought fresh oysters. Thank you.

The Park Run is held every Saturday starting at the Eastern side of the bridge across the lake. There is a big car park nearby if you drive there. It’s a very picturesque route across the bridge and the length of the boardwalk and back. The fastest runners will take about 17 minutes and the slowest about 42.

Fantastic charter we bagged out on flat head by 11 o’clock , rather than waste our time on the reef as it hasn’t been much good lately we targeted flat head , skipper was a great fella happy to lend advice , was good to see kids aloud on the boat they had a ball and the skipper was very patient and happy to help them , he even filleted and skinned our catch , we all went home with a big bag of fillets each , overall a great charter will be back again

We were keen to try SUP and after checking the forecasts Steve urged us to delay a day - we're so glad we did. We had beautiful weather and crystal clear water with heaps of stingrays, fish and starfish. Steve was great - clear and supportive and the right guidance to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and stayed safe. He knows his waterways really well and from our experience I'd say he is really good at adapting to the skill and confidence level of his clients (we are not young and super fit ;) It was a really positive experience and we are keen to do it again. Thanks so much Steve and good luck with the puppy!

I have reviewed a LOT of tours, events, restaurants and places but this one is truly unique and wonderful. To see whales up CLOSE as they migrate is truly a bucket list item. The captain was a fantastic source of knowledge about whales and the seas in the area, and the small group of tourists was also assisted by another “helper” on the boat who turned out to be invaluable when one of the clients got fairly violently sea sick. Hint, when they say pre trip to take a travel sickness pill, don’t just take ginger because on the open seas there’s every chance it’ll be rough. This tour came with a guarantee of seeing whales or else another trip for free. Even seeing whales, they offered a half price deal if we wanted to go again and we did take them up on this offer. Next hint would be to go early in your visit if possible, to allow for a second trip if you want or need. Anyways, aside from the hints here, I unreservedly give this a total 5 star rating. I’d give it 6 if it was possible.

    Two experiences at Mitchies Jetty.
First was a 6:30am coffee was we walked along the beach. The coffee was average, however this could have been the first coffee of the day. Friendly barista.
Second, a bit later in the day we hired single kayaks for an hour and the people at Mitchies were very helpful and friendly. They gave us a quick but good explanation about where we could go.
We had a beautiful time on the water, very calm and easy to navigate.
In the hour we were able to kayak up to and just past the bridge, back down the left side of the oyster farms and back to Mitchies Jettys.
Lots of stand up paddle-boards happening. Perfect, calm water for children to experience kayaking and SUP
