Things were about to get interesting on a Sunday afternoon.
Four middle age men seated and fishing off the wharf.
Four teenagers approached wharf. In bathers with towel.
Talking enthusiastically about their brave jumps ahead off the high wharf.
Unfortunately my teens “bored” in car demanded I take them home.
    Terrific iconic feature of Merimbula.

Very cool to get to see all the animals and get the chance to feed a few of them. Staff were super friendly. Facilities are dated but it all felt well cared for. Cute gift shop and opportunity to buy snacks and drinks on site!

The walk along the Merimbula Boardwalk is beautiful. Parts of the boardwalk go over the water and the water level depends on the tide. The walk along the estuary is very peaceful with bird life and beautiful scenery. There are no railings on the boardwalk and it is wide enough to allow people to pass each other.

Lovely walk not too strenuous some steps good viewing platform for photos well signed. And other pause spots for views of coastline. Whales to be seen if you're lucky in the right season

We had a great day and went on the water slides, played mini golf, the toboggan ride, the roller coaster, petrol race cars, dodgem cars, tube ride and definitely had an action packed day that was well worth the entry fee.
Kids and adults all had such a great time that we upgraded to the season pass at the end of our visit.
It was school holidays and between Christmas and New Years and the wait times were more than reasonable, staff friendly and I would recommend for a fun family day out.

The short point beach / lookout is a must at sunrise and sunset. Really nice seats and lookout in the reserve to watch the surf. The short walk to the look out at sunrise is worth the early wake up great for dogs and family’s.

Popped in to find helpful staff for collecting maps and tourist information.
Got tips on how to entertain teens e.g., stand up paddle board hire & Potoroo Palace.
For us grown-ups received advice on food and beverage options.
Plenty of brochures to fire up discussion back at apartment on schedule of priorities.

Great place for either a short of longer walk that hugs the coast. Opportunities to see bird lift, native plants & scenic photo shots. Take the walk up to Bar Beach - a favorite for families, surfies & kayakers; its well worth the visit. Has a kiosk with plenty of spots to sit & enjoy the scenery.

nice soft sand with 4km worth of beach to enjoy. great for boogie boarding if you like that sort of thing and depending on the day they have great markets. I walked from Merimbula to Pambula and I would say doing that walk is much better than the board walk (bring food otherwise you will regret it aha)

Rotary Club of Merimbula hosts this market on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Gold coin donation for entry. Variety of food including dutch pancakes, bbq, thai etc. And a variety of stores including vintage/2nd hand, plants, cheese and fresh produce, soap etc.
Very fun community vibe- highly recommend!

I have been visiting Bar Beach since 1988 when I first holidayed in Merimbula. This is beautiful location for a picnic barbecue and photography. A nice location for putting your feet in the water.
