The lighthouse is definitely worth the walk from Byron Bay.

Make sure you bring lots of water and sunscreen with you.

There are plenty of places to take great pictures along the way.

Quite a long walk with lots of steps. Good rest areas and places to get refreshments. Outstanding views, suggest using the QR codes to learn more about the lookouts. Wear comfortable shoes!

Worth the money! Delicious beers, very chill vibes and just a feel of welcome when you enter the brewery. Jess was so cheerful, and a warm and friendly guide. She did an amazing job!

Belongil Beach is a picturesque beach located to the north of the town of Byron Bay in New South Wales, Australia. It offers a more tranquil and secluded atmosphere compared to the bustling beaches closer to the town center. Here's some information about Belongil Beach:

Location: Belongil Beach is situated approximately 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) north of Byron Bay's central business district. It is accessible via Bayshore Drive, which runs parallel to the beach, or by walking along the shoreline from the town center.

Natural Beauty: Belongil Beach is known for its natural beauty, with pristine sands, rolling dunes, and stunning coastal scenery. The beach is backed by lush vegetation, including coastal scrub and low-lying vegetation, creating a sense of tranquility and seclusion.

Secluded Atmosphere: Belongil Beach offers a more relaxed and less crowded experience compared to the busier beaches closer to Byron Bay's town center. It's a great spot to escape the crowds and enjoy a peaceful beach outing.

Activities: Belongil Beach provides a range of activities for visitors to enjoy. These include swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, and picnicking. The beach's uncrowded nature makes it ideal for long walks, jogging, or simply unwinding and soaking up the sun.

Amenities: While Belongil Beach is a more secluded area, it does offer some amenities for visitors. These include parking spaces along Bayshore Drive, public toilets, and access points to the beach. However, it's advisable to bring your own supplies, such as food, water, and sun protection, as there are no nearby shops or facilities.

It's important to note that Belongil Beach may have different conditions depending on the time of year, tides, and weather. It's recommended to check local surf and safety conditions before engaging in any water activities.

Belongil Beach provides a serene and less crowded beach experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the area and relax in a tranquil setting. Whether you're looking for a peaceful day at the beach, a stroll along the shoreline, or a spot to take your furry friend for a walk, Belongil Beach offers a serene and scenic escape from the busier parts of Byron Bay.

We had a fabulous time (again) at the Cape Byron Distillery. Gorgeous views, great flights of gin and whiskey to taste, lovely staff. Grab some platter foods out of the fridge, order a cocktail before your tasting flights and sit for a bit. Koalas an extra bonus.

Totally overall , there are plenty of other NSW coastal touristy towns , with better value for money .. as Byron Bay is overpriced .. specifically with accommodation & it’s high street parking fees everywhere over Byron Bay CBD

Wategos Beach is a stunning beach located in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia. It is known for its natural beauty, pristine sands, crystal-clear waters, and its scenic setting against the backdrop of the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Here's some information about Wategos Beach:

Location: Wategos Beach is situated to the east of the Cape Byron headland, approximately 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) from Byron Bay's town center. It can be accessed by taking Lighthouse Road and then turning onto Marine Parade, which leads to the beach.

Natural Beauty: Wategos Beach is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty. The crescent-shaped beach is surrounded by lush vegetation and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. The picturesque setting, with the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse perched on the headland, creates a truly idyllic atmosphere.

Swimming and Surfing: Wategos Beach is popular for swimming, thanks to its sheltered position and generally calm conditions. The gentle waves and clear waters make it suitable for people of all ages and swimming abilities. It's important to note that there are no lifeguards on duty at Wategos Beach, so it's advisable to exercise caution and be mindful of any potential hazards.

Surfing at The Wreck: At the northern end of Wategos Beach, there is a surf break known as The Wreck. It's named after the remains of the shipwrecked vessel, the SS Wollongbar, which is located just offshore and can sometimes be seen during low tide.

The Cape Byron Walking Track begins at Wategos and leads up to the Cape Byron Lighthouse, providing breathtaking views along the way. There are also picnic facilities available, allowing visitors to enjoy a leisurely picnic while taking in the stunning coastal scenery.

Whale Watching: Wategos Beach offers fantastic opportunities for whale watching during the annual migration season, which typically occurs from May to November. Humpback whales, in particular, can often be spotted as they pass by Cape Byron, making their journey along the east coast of Australia.

Parking and Facilities: There is limited parking available at Wategos Beach, so it's advisable to arrive early, especially during peak times. Facilities include public toilets and showers for visitors' convenience.

Wategos Beach is renowned for its beauty, serenity, and the chance to enjoy a range of coastal activities. Whether you're looking to swim, surf, go for a scenic walk, have a picnic, or simply relax and soak up the coastal ambiance, Wategos Beach offers a picturesque escape in the Byron Bay area.

We were so grateful for all the assistance and support that Deb, Bronwen, Shona and Ivan provided after our accommodation reneged on its initial assurance that we could store our luggage on its site before the official check-in time. Not only did the Visitor Centre helpfully store our luggage, but Deb kindly arranged for Shona, a volunteer, to meet us after closing time to collect our luggage (which enabled us to enjoy a little extra time at the Byron Bay Writers Festival.) Shona and Ivan also very generously offered us a lift to our accommodation. We were also impressed with the presentation of the Visitor Centre, and the interactions that we observed Deb and other volunteers having with other customers. The centre provides a great public service and it would be terrific to see some financial support for the volunteers.

Located just off the beach at The Pass .. the Fisherman’s Lookout has good views along Byron Bay’s foreshore

As well as the surrounding views from Fisherman’s Lookout .. I liked the rock formations

If you visited this Byron Bay lookout during higher tides .. you’ll need to walk through water

We purchased the Ride in Style ticket online which included lunch at North Byron Hotel (across the road from station). We went to hotel for lunch but were told to go to train station to get meal ticket. No one at train station so back to hotel. Staff were super helpful. We ordered the burger off the Ride in Style menu and had to get take away as the train runs every hour in the afternoon. We just ran out of time with the to and for from the station. Got to station and train was in. Conductor gave us our ticket - which included the lunch meal! Driver and conductor were super friendly. Love the different eras in the train carriages.
Train tickets were reasonable compared to parking in Byron. Free parking at station! Good experience all round despite the mix up with the meal
