We were a bit early for our tour so we had a spot of lunch in the Cafe, which was really nice and took time to view the video which explains the history of the house, then popped into the little museum.
We started off with a glass of Proseco in the museum room - then a guide took us on a very full and interesting tour of the house.

You can combine your museum visit with a stadium tour, which is also excellent and well worth doing but as I'd already done that, it was just the museum on this trip.
The museum is a lovely arrangement of memorabilia, history and hands-on parts: old, very old rugby caps, ticket stubs, rugby jerseys, replicas of the Webb Ellis Cup and other trophies, some nicely arranged films,...

Also of course a few yards down the road is the equally interesting Steam Museum so you could combine the two museums for a memorable Brentford experience.
Roy expertly guided us through the museum's historical instruments, and Mike, one of the Museum Directors, introduced us to the Mighty Wurlitzer and gave a wonderful recital.

I've visited many local museums recently and this is amongst the best.
Its small size made it possible to appreciate everything, which is often difficult in larger museums.
London Museum of Water & Steam Brentford 5.4 km away

All in all, one o the best museums I've even been to
The museum is hosted in a former (19th century) thames water pumping station and features a wide range of steam engines in perfect working condition, frequently demoed by volunteers, as well as a very interesting...

I have been to several other tennis museums (US, France), and this is easily the best.
A 90 minute tour of the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and grounds was very interesting and a great thrill to be able to entry centre court and see where many of our favourite players had played and won the ultimate...

Wonderful day out to one of London's most interesting and free museums, there is so much to explore at the natural history museum, the dinosaur section is probably the best in the world.

I have two young kids age 6 and 3 - actually the museum caters for all kids young and old - it's a great spot for family as all ages enjoy bit of history and of course the great heritage of TfL.
While the main museum in Covent Garden is excellent, the Depot has a much more extensive collection pertaining to every conceivable aspect of LT history from vehicles down to cutlery used in staff canteens.

Everyone who visits London goes to the big museums such as the Natural History and Science, but it's well worth a trip to Notting Hill to see this excellent place.
Most who come to London visit the main national museums but this is very well worth seeing.

ONe of the most fascinating museums I have seen, The rooms are preserved exactly how they were during the war, narration was excellent and the cafe complements the tour.
The Churchill War Rooms are part of the Imperial War Museums and very much worth a visit for anyone who knew of Churchill and/or is interested in the role of Britain in the Second World War.

There is also a small museum which gives some insight in the Hindu faith.

I love museums and when I saw that a steam museum is literally next door to us I was determine to go.
The original railway brought coal up from the Thames to feed six huge boilers in what is now Kempton Steam Museum, a National Monument and home to the world's largest working triple-expansion steam pumping engine.

It is every bit as good as the other great museums I have seen- Louvre, Met, Hermitage, Uffizi etc. Wonderful collection of renaissance art as well as excellent impressionist collection.
Having been to many art galleries including the Prado, Louvre, Vatican Museums, National Gallery of Art (Washington), MET, National Palace Museum, I can say this definitely ranks as one of the my favourite.
