What travellers are saying
- TerryRxyzBoone, NC137 contributionsA nice drive though the hills and vineyards takes you to a very pleasant setting for some winetasting. There is covered seating, tables on the lawn under the trees, and some by the river. There are several wine and port choices, and some light food items but we didn't try them.Written 20 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - brigetj640Rehoboth Beach, DE18 contributionsWell, it is a cemetery, so not super exciting. This is more interesting for history type of visitors. Well maintained and full of history.Written 15 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Marshall JBainbridge Island, WA556 contributionsCowhorn Winery is a megahit boutique winery in a lovely Applegate Valley setting off-the-beaten-path outside historic Jacksonville (thank goodness for the state's blue directional signs with exact mileage!). Also exemplary is Cowhorn's dedication to the environment with biodynamic principles and all-solar power. The engaging female staff in the tasting room can talk fine wines with the best of such folks, but they also entertain any and all questions about the winery's principles and what exactly they mean on the ground and in the vineyards. So visiting Cowhorn is not only a chance to taste a stellar lineup of wines, ones attracting national notice, but it also provides a chance to learn something more along the way. This is a remarkable place well worth seeking out. Just follow the blue signs....Written 5 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Trista ASonoma County, CA111 contributionsBeautiful views from their front porch and tasting room. The wines are very pleasant and the overall tasting room experience was very nice. We had a great chat with the tasting room manager who offered up some great suggestions for restaraunts in the area (many of which we did visit).Written 11 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Craig O11 contributionsBrandon, Jim, and Emma have done a great job with this hidden treasure of a winery. It is a small operation where attention to detail is evident in the excellent wines they produce.
We tried their five wine flight with their reds. Every wine was appreciably better than the wines we buy at our local wine store, at a very competitive price.
The tasting room is hand built and quaint. But do not prejudice the wines based upon the appearance of the building We!
We highly recommend a visit!Written 6 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very quiet and relaxing.
Kate was our "hostess with the moistest" for the evening and was so much fun to talk to. The wines we tasted with our multiple course meal were well paired and tasty. The food was masterful; but they have no onsite kitchen so some plates were not at ideal temperature.
The room was set up nicely but a little crowded; but I think the service did a heck of a job getting plates in and out of tight places to provide good continuity and a great evening. Also enjoyed that the chef (Emily?) introduced & described each course as it was being served.
We would certainly go again!Written 19 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I found a wonderful little hiding place in a small tasting room on the side of an old house that serves as an inn and restaurant. Owner of this small winery was extremely informative and I really enjoyed our conversation as we tasted his wine. I was so pleasantly surprised on how good the French style wine was. They has taken great care and patience in creating some beautiful wines. Small can be mighty!! I am already planning a return trip and of course plan on spending time here.Written 27 July 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MElkinsCODenver, Colorado128 contributionsStopped in on a recent trip to Oregon and found this wonderful place. A very scenic setting with wonderful gardens, and wines to match. The Marsanne was wonderful, as were the other wines. They have music and a wonderful patio to hang out and enjoy.Written 2 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
