Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Drove up from Deloraine for the day. The weather was foul for a lot of the top of the mountain but it added to the experience. Under grey skies and low cloud, the lake looked menacing. The views of the mountains from Pine Lake back down the way we had come were awesome, with rugged rock faces immersed in cloud one minute and stark against blue sky the next. Despite the presence of many shacks, it’s still a wild place

Our much anticipated Mother-Daughter adventure in beautiful Tasmania was made even more memorable! Guide Chris Stopp (‘Stopper) is an expert Fly Fisherman, fantastic host and all round great human being! My 50+3 birthday (Covid delay) was spent with Mum on Penstock Lagoon! A few decent ‘offers’ from brown trout and ‘almost’ brought one aboard (I have witnesses 🤣)…. this trout is now ‘decorated’ but I was reassured this is temporary. I will forever remember this amazing day on the water surrounded by Tasmania’s wild country. Plenty of humour, a tasty lunch supplied by ‘Stopper’ and finished off with a delicious birthday dinner of fresh Tassie Scallops and a glass or two of wine at the Central Highlands Hotel.
Highly recommend! Plan to be back!

A personalised itinerary was created that allowed me to maximise my time in the spectacular Tasmanian central plateau and surrounding areas. Jason shared a lot of information about the local area and Tasmanian history and I was entertained and well cared for - very impressive lunches! Had a great time exploring with long day walks in perfect weather revealing stunning views. Could not have asked for more. Also recommend the Great Lake Hotel for a welcoming place to eat, drink and stay overnight.

Nick was recently a guide for my wife and I on a beginners fly fishing day in the Central Highlands of Tasmania. We really appreciated his patient, encouraging approach and willingness to explain it all to us in an easy to understand way. What’s more - he put us onto some great fish. I highly recommend his services. A great guide and effective at producing fish!!
