Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Tourist6472299415353 contributionsBeautiful view well worth the walk to the lookout.
Some fitness required but good walking track.
We did the loop from the lookout to wineglass bay beach and around via Hazards beach.Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John CPerth, Australia69 contributionsThe other reviews are correct, this is not an easy climb. I don’t know when a walk stops being a walk and becomes rock climbing but this must go close in a couple of spots.
As others have said: be sure your shoes have excellent grip, and don’t go if it is even slightly damp.
I took 2.5 hrs up and back. The walk is not difficult until about 3/5 of the way up when there are two sections of rock where you need to use all your upper body strength to help pull yourself up. It goes on like that, on all fours with one slip leading to serious injury or worse, for about forty or fifty vertical metres, then it gets really easy for the remaining third of the climb. On the way down I got a bit cocky and short cutted across a seep of water. There was sliding, there was terror, amd there was a hard landing on my butt. Fortunately only my dignity hurt.
The view is nice, but NOT the postcard view of Wineglass Bay. To get that you need to walk to Wineglass Bay then on and up Mt Freycinet.Written 18 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Worth taking your swimmers for a dip in the crystal clear water. You could spend hours here if you have enough suncream, water and snacks. It was a little grey when we were at the lookout but blue skies by the time we were at the water.
Signage said the walk down to the bay from the lookout was 1.5 hours return, but for us (reasonable fitness with no breaks) it was 20 mins down and 25 mins back up. Total walking time from car park was 1.5 hours return.Written 18 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - heleneandfamilyMontreal, Canada237 contributionsAbsolutely delicious oysters!!
Tried both the natural ones, the Tasmanian flavored ones and the steamed ones with asian flavor, all top notch!!
However, way too expensive!! At 3$ each is seems really exaggerated considering they culture them next by and there’s no service (the clients do everything)
Too sad, as if not, we’ve been there twice a day;)Written 20 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The head honcho of the organisation was skipper for this cruise so the commentary contained some personal insights which were great fun. We were lucky to see dolphins, seals, whales and a sea eagle as well as the spectacular coast of the Freycinet Peninsula.
We were booked on the lower deck which had the advantage of external access to the front of the vessel. The only downside was the bento-box lunch which didn't really match the quality of the rest of the offering. That's the only reason for my 4* rating (yes - I know - a bit mean but I do try to reserve 5*s for something that's really really excellent).Written 9 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ravi VMelbourne, Australia2 contributionsThe whole experience was great. Driving the ATV’s through lots of rough terrain, bumps and water bodies was fantastic.. Sam, our guide was brilliant and he shared a lot of Interesting information about the region. The views were great .
We went for the half day experience . Helmets and goggles ( if required were provide by them) . We stopped for a snack/ tea and some lunch as well.
PS The brownies made by Sam’s wife were fantastic.

- sneakyguy12Toowoomba, Australia2 contributionsHad a great day, Roshan picked us up at our unit in the morning and took us on a guided tour of some great local wineries. Lunch was provided at one of the wineries and was very good in quality, taste and quantity. Our guide had a lot of local knowledge and a clear passion on the topic of wines. All in all if you have the time and you're in that area I would highly recommend this tour.Written 30 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - melissawoollcott3 contributionsWe couldn’t rate this highly enough! As a family of four this was a truly special and memorable trip. It was all very organised at booking confirmation stage and also on the day. Stephen and John took us through safety and then their suggestion for the morning, they were so lovely and always let us decide if we wanted to anchor or keep on past the beaches. Their knowledge was amazing of the local landscape and waters. We saw seals up closer than ever before, a ray swam under the boat and we saw a giant sea eagles nest. We have hundreds of photos from the coves they took us to, where we jumped in to swim from the boat into clear aqua waters. John made us warm tea and hot chocolates to warm us up after swimming. If we could give 6 stars to this experience we would!!Written 25 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lucy MDorset, UK368 contributionsNo time to hike to Wineglass Bay or take a boat trip. What’s better than both of those suggestions? Well an aerial view of course.
We rang up to check availability and within the hour we were airborne.
Both our pilot Greg, and the chopper were great, but the views were something else. It was a bit overcast, but the colours still popped.
Great experience, wish we could have been up for longer!Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The walk itself is interesting and offers great views of Coles Bay on the way up. Wineglass Bay is beautiful from the lookout and well worth the walk.Written 28 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
