Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Suzanne2303Labrador, Australia1,392 contributionsThis walk is regarded as ‘Moderate’. I’m relatively fit, but I needed to stop a few times to catch my breath, because there’s a lot of steps and it’s quite steep. At the top there’s a boardwalk around for different views of the magnificent Wineglass Bay. We were blessed with fine weather and great photographic opportunities.
The walk back down to the car park breaks off on its own loop so you won’t expect to meet people climbing up.
There are lots of car parks but they fill up quickly!Written 24 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tons of wildlife right in the campsite with beautiful beach walks. Fantastic for kids. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many different hiking options.Written 25 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ivanka M40 contributionsAmazing ! This has been on my bucket list for years and finally did it 🙌 we were lucky enough to do it on a perfect spring day. Took us 1.5hrs return to the beach. Not for those that are unfit of have knee or hip issues as lots of steps and uneven walking surfaces. Suitable for kids (tweens/teens -my three did it no issues ) maybe not for little kids. As beautiful as I thought it would be!Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- John CPerth, Australia68 contributionsThe other reviews are correct, this is not an easy climb. I don’t know when a walk stops being a walk and becomes rock climbing but this must go close in a couple of spots.
As others have said: be sure your shoes have excellent grip, and don’t go if it is even slightly damp.
I took 2.5 hrs up and back. The walk is not difficult until about 3/5 of the way up when there are two sections of rock where you need to use all your upper body strength to help pull yourself up. It goes on like that, on all fours with one slip leading to serious injury or worse, for about forty or fifty vertical metres, then it gets really easy for the remaining third of the climb. On the way down I got a bit cocky and short cutted across a seep of water. There was sliding, there was terror, amd there was a hard landing on my butt. Fortunately only my dignity hurt.
The view is nice, but NOT the postcard view of Wineglass Bay. To get that you need to walk to Wineglass Bay then on and up Mt Freycinet.Written 18 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - heleneandfamilyMontreal, Canada236 contributionsAbsolutely delicious oysters!!
Tried both the natural ones, the Tasmanian flavored ones and the steamed ones with asian flavor, all top notch!!
However, way too expensive!! At 3$ each is seems really exaggerated considering they culture them next by and there’s no service (the clients do everything)
Too sad, as if not, we’ve been there twice a day;)Written 20 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jason TAdelaide, Australia565 contributionsWe thoroughly enjoyed our two hours on this tour with Declan who is a great host which you can only conclude, is passionate about the industry!
The main event is a short drive in their van from the rendezvous where you can have something to eat and drink before or after the tour and we enjoyed our food.
This tour is a fantastic way to get hands on with Oyster farming whilst also having fun, especially as you don some waders first and head off shore and then return and "attempt" to shuck your oysters which is all quite entertaining. You will also get to sample some local mussels which I thoroughly enjoyed, all with a pleasant white wine.
This is a fantastic experience you won't be disappointed with and I highly recommend it !Written 4 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The pilot was professional, safety conscious, and personable. He pointed out many highlights during the trip that added to the experience.
We got to see a lot of the coastline, looked out to the Tasman Sea, were able to see a number of schools of dolphin.
Landed on Maia Island to hike around and see many wombats and kangaroos, including some with joeys.
We were very excited to be able to take the helicopter excursion because our time in Tasmania was limited and we wouldn’t have been able to see Maria Island, the wildlife and seeing the area from a unique vantage point.
We highly recommend to take them for an excursion to see either Wineglass Bay, Coles Bay and/or Maria Island.
We had an awesome memorable experience.Written 5 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
