Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

very well organised and get to see beautiful parts of wild Tassie. Cater to different levels of fitness and sufficient time to enjoy.

This fantastic tour was expertly led by Tom, who has a real passion for all things Tasmanian and shares his knowledge with humour and deep feeling.
The balance of travel time and walking is great, and the island is so abundant in natural beauty.
The motels were very comfortable and clean, and all staff very friendly.
I highly recommend Under Down Under for anyone regardless of age or fitness levels.
I hope you’ll be lucky enough to have Tom as your guide.

Decent way to get from Launceston to Hobart and the big 3, guides were friendly and knowledgeable.

It was raining pretty much constantly during our first two days (cradle mountain and wineglass bay) but we still had a good time, the views were awesome despite the rain and fog. We also got to see lots of wombats which are really cute.

The third day to Port Arthur is the only reason we didn't want to give the tour five stars. I wish we could spend more time in Port Arthur instead of the Unzoo (which was okay but unremarkable) and Richmond (lovely town but by the time we got there most shops have already closed). The Port Arthur ferry was also really underwhelming.

I had been doing research on the various options of traveling through Tasmania. UnderDownUnder tours seemed to provide the greatest tour for our needs, and at such a great price! I'm so glad we chose this. We had an amazing guide, Evan, who showed us so many things. He was incredibly knowledgeable and funny, and really knows his coffee! We were definitely the 'seniors' on the tour - three couples in their early 70's - but never felt segregated in any way. 'The Kids,' as we called them (all 20 and 30 somethings) were all so fun and interesting. We had great accommodations in each town we visited, and I know 'the kids' enjoy their hostel experiences as well. I would never hesitate to recommend Under Down Under to anyone who wants a rich experience in Tasmania.

Keagan was phenomenal as our tour guide. I learned tons of history about Abel Tasman and how Tasmania got it's name and some of it's former history as Van Diemens land. We learned how most cities and towns got their name (spoiler alert, copied and pasted from UK cities and towns) and learned way more than I ever thought I'd learn about mining and the rocky geologist. If you are a fan of dolomite, you're in for a treat.

Keagan was super knowledgable, super friendly, and enthusiastic the entire time. I've been around the world from Kenya to Iceland to the Cook Islands and more and I would hire a Keagan every single time if it were an option. Thanks Keagan, thanks Anthony and thanks Under Down Under for the fantastic experience!

We just did the Famous Five tour of Tasmania. It was fantastic.
We had Tim as our Guide and he was very knowledgeable about plants, wildlife, towns etc as we toured Tassie. He was extremely helpful to the group.
We had a mixed group of ages (21 to 78) and from many different countries. Solo travellers , couples and mates on the tour.
Everyone got on and had a few laughs.
There’s lots of walking, waterfalls and views as well lots of animals to see. There is So much to see and enjoy here.

Motel accomodation is clean and good on this tour, not 5 star and that’s ok, it’s clean and comfortable.

If I had one small gripe it would be that food in Strahan is either a rip off $42 a main at Hamers or The Kitchen ( sorry that’s Sydney /Melbourne Prices not a town of 700 people ) or barely average food at Molly’s or the Fish and Chips. So maybe tour operators need to reconsider this town. So for me Strahan was a disappointment.
Other reviewers have mentioned this as an issue.

Otherwise this was a throughly enjoyable and great way to see Tasmania with an excellent guide.

Absolutely amazing tour and experience! Picked up at the start of the tour and immediately made feel very welcome by our exceptional tour guide Tim. We visited so many incredibly beautiful and culturally significant locations and at all locations Tim was able to provide any detail you could have asked for. Walks were clearly explained and alternatives were always provided for those who didn't want to climb stairs or for those who wanted a more adventurous walk - do the walk even if you end up a little red-faced, the sense of achievement and the spectacular scenery are worth it! Tim's narrative in the bus on the drives between locations was well informed and helped me to fall more and more in love with Tasmania. While the tour is essentially non-stop, there was also opportunity to stop and just to relax and enjoy the view.

The motel/hotel accommodation was always clean and the added bonus of an electric blanket after a cooler day was always appreciated. Included meals were fresh with a number of options available and multiple courses on offer on an evening. On the days where we fended for our selves we were given plenty of opportunity to stop and pick up supplies, including at the southern most vineyard in Australia and plenty of ice cream stops.

The whole experience was exceptional and made even better by Tim. The tour group of likeminded travellers who wanted to see the raw beauty and history of the beautiful island added to the experience.

If I could go back right now and do the tour again I would not hesitate in doing it all again and following the other path to discover more beauty.

This tour was awesome. Trevor the tour guide is an absolute legend. He is witty, knowledgeable, passionate and intelligent. His love for Tasmania is so evident in the way he talks about it. He has an incredible understanding of the natural environment, imparting his wisdom about flora and fauna. He is also well versed in environmental advancements taking place in Tasmania. He incorporated the history into the tour, acknowledging the atrocities like the killing of the aboriginal people when settlers arrived. He incorporated the traditional names of Hobart/Nipaluna and Mt Wellington/kunanyi. Trevor made this tour so special and I hope you have the pleasure of touring with him too.

My only feedback is - don't expect a 3 day tour with a group who you would get to know. Only a few of us did all 3 days, others were doing individual days of the tour - so maybe not so good if you're solo traveling and looking to make connections.
