Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a must do walk - even if you have to huff and puff up the 1000 steps. The view is spectacular!

    Majestic views from the top!

Stayed at Freycinet lodge which was excellent and did a review about that but this is more about the hikes etc. Such a lovely massive park and we did the wineglass bay and hazards beach loop which was stunning..

Easy walk with many vantage points to enjoy wonderful scenery. Some bold cheeky wildlife that may make an appearance - on our arrival in the parking lot we were greeted by a wallaby that was totally relaxed and unbothered by our presence.

The other reviews are correct, this is not an easy climb. I don’t know when a walk stops being a walk and becomes rock climbing but this must go close in a couple of spots.

As others have said: be sure your shoes have excellent grip, and don’t go if it is even slightly damp.

I took 2.5 hrs up and back. The walk is not difficult until about 3/5 of the way up when there are two sections of rock where you need to use all your upper body strength to help pull yourself up. It goes on like that, on all fours with one slip leading to serious injury or worse, for about forty or fifty vertical metres, then it gets really easy for the remaining third of the climb. On the way down I got a bit cocky and short cutted across a seep of water. There was sliding, there was terror, amd there was a hard landing on my butt. Fortunately only my dignity hurt.

The view is nice, but NOT the postcard view of Wineglass Bay. To get that you need to walk to Wineglass Bay then on and up Mt Freycinet.

We stayed in a caravan park at Coles Bay. There is a walking trail on the foreshore which continues and becomes a trail in the national park. There is a visitor centre along the way. The track is good and predominantly flat. Nice views along the way

Beautiful spot to visit. We walked around 9am on a weekend and arrived to a near-empty beach. Worth taking your swimmers for a dip in the crystal clear water. You could spend hours here if you have enough suncream, water and snacks. It was a little grey when we were at the lookout but blue skies by the time we were at the water.

Signage said the walk down to the bay from the lookout was 1.5 hours return, but for us (reasonable fitness with no breaks) it was 20 mins down and 25 mins back up. Total walking time from car park was 1.5 hours return.

Gorgeous little bay perfect for swimming only a short drive from the visitor centre. Almost looks man-made it looks so perfect. The surrounding hills and bush adds to the character of this bay and it isn't as popular as many of the other beaches mainly because there is limited parking. Must do!!

Pretty and unspoiled with pristine white beaches and rocky headlands. Only did a day trip in, but it’s well set up for camping so May do this next trip worth visiting

If you are in Freycinet, this is a definite visit. You get to walk to a small beach on the seaside of Freycinet National Park. Some amazing and colourful rock formations right down by the course and sandy beach

It was a stunning and easy walk to the wineglass bay lookout. We were there over a long weekend and there were a lot of people enjoying the same walk.

Easy manageable walk resulting in breathtaking views. We highly recommend to young & old, especially after completing Wine Glass first!
