Took the gentler approach from Ronny Creek car park, lovely views of other hills, gentle river and lake, the only steep bit was last 20mins.
My tip though is to take the shuttle bus (excellent service) to Dove Lake and walk down to Ronny Creek car park rather than the other way as suggested by the rangers.

... is well laid out with boardwalks & steps in the majority of the walk Stunning scenic photo opportunities in many parts of the walk, lots of sandy "beaches" and beautiful bush land to enjoy nature at its best
The dove lake circuit is made accessible by the brilliant Parks and Wildlife people who have laid an excellent boardwalk around the circuit.

Lake St Claire is situated at the southern end of the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Claire National Park and is accessed from Derwent Bridge.
There is an information centre which is very up-to-date with all the nature and wildlife and flora, etc. around the area but also gives the details of the evolution of the whole area.
