Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Karen LPerth, Australia151 contributionsWe were the only ones on our tour so really enjoyed the experience and being able to ask any questions we had. The tour guide (sorry I have forgotten her name) was very passionate and provided some good examples in her explanation of how whisky is made and the differences between flavour created by the various casks and aging techniques. We stayed and had lunch at the restaurant - it was delicious!Written 30 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John CSydney, Australia565 contributionsWe called into this Museum and we were delighted with what we saw, and that was a replica of part of early Burnie life. Fascinating !!
If you are in Burnie, give yourself an opportunity to see something out of the past and what life must have been like 120 plus years ago.

Everything is set up for Covid - you sign in, sanitise and you are free to wander through. The gallery is not a big gallery but I found the artwork inside intriguing. Some of it I really enjoyed ... other pieces made me wonder how the artist thinks. THAT is what I love about art... the differences, the nuances, the uncertainty.
There are items for sale in the entry area.Written 13 February 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We travelled with another couple from our cruise ship Queen Elizabeth. Robyn was very knowledgeable about the local area and nothing was to much trouble. She gave us a lovely & tasty Morning Tea/Lunch with local Fruits & Cheeses. Robyn made some tasty Rhubarb chutney. At the end of the tour was a Wow factor surprise. We recommend this tour next time you are in Burnie Tasmania.Written 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Julie EBirkdale, Australia8 contributionsVisited Burnie for a port stop from our cruise and booked online. Cherie met us at Makers Market with the warmest smile, she drove our small group around to see Burnie natural scenery of opium and poppy fields. Along the way stopped at Bluehills honey farm to taste different types of honey. Cherie provide us with homemade treats to keep us going throughout the day. Went to the Nut for lunch she rang ahead so our orders were ready she took those that were willing on the cable chair to enjoy lunch at the top.
We were able to walk around Stanley historical town and visit boat harbour beach.
Cherie was so knowledgeable and had so much passion for Burnie. Anyone visiting Burnie I would highly recommend Australian wild harvest tour with Cherie.Written 14 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
