Really a must-see area, this place stands out as a gem among all the great historic sites in the area.
I bought a guide book rather than the Audio and sat and read it in the sunshine soaking up the atmosphere As with a lot of Heritage sites it wont keep you busy for a day but take a picnic and go for the afternoon.

The bedroom had a new four poster bed, the carpets were also new & new chairs had been put in but the view from both the bedroom & bathroom were great surrounded by fields which were to been seen everywhere.
We all sat on the terrace with our wine and meals and a view which any 5 * hotel would destroy your credit card for.

Jackfield Tile Museum Telford 7.2 km away
#3 of 15 Sights & Landmarks in Telford
One of the museum sites in the Ironbridge gorge, a really well set up museum, Absolutely genuine, with many original pieces presented in their buildings of an original Victorian tile factory site.
The donation of a breathtaking collection of tiles by a wealthy London property magnate has added even more beauty to the exhibits on view.

It would be very easy to miss this site with so many other things to see in the area, but it is absolutely worth your time for a visit especially if you have a love of Abbeys.
Granted it doesn't have some of the facilities that the larger sites have, but it's beautiful and the children loved the eye spy sheets, and I even purchased a bottle of Ginger Wine (which I highly recommend).

Finally we enjoyed a lovely walk around the gardens, orchard and vegetable garden which was great to enjoy all the nature and views around the property especially as the weather was dry and sunny.
It has an intimacy that makes it easy to connect with the people who lived and worked there, and it has friendly enthusiastic staff led by a site manager who is prepared to try new things (such as Sunnycroft by Ni...
