Our main goal for the day was Lindisfarne Island. This tour from our research had the most time on the island. Be warned the que for the ladies loo takes time!! You don't have time to visit both the "castle" and the priory or the town. I was walking a bit slow as wanted to soak in the vibes. (Possibly for my purposes I should have hired a car so I could spend all day) The driver once understanding my purpose and link to the island was amazing and tired to point out specific information for me ( I was sitting at the front) both at the island and in the surrounding area - including pointing out road signs with our family name on, which was appreciated. Alnwick castle was good - but again time is limited here and you could easily spend a whole day.

We actually did two tours from Edinburgh with Timberbush Tours with Neil as our guide and both were absolutely amazing! Neil not only guided us safely about Scotland & England but he was a wealth of information!!! There was so much added value to our trip bc of his knowledge of history. You could tell he really takes his job seriously and wants to make sure the people on his tours have the best time. He made sure we got to see everything we wanted to, everything that was a planned and a few surprise stops that we weren’t expecting but that made our trip extra special! He was so accommodating, so kind, so funny! We could not have asked for a better guide! Additionally, as a tour company Timberbush Tours is a step above all the rest! They were so efficient and helpful right from the start! Everything went exactly as planned and it made our vacation so fun and stress free! I would absolutely tour with them on any return trips!!!

Two Words. Brian Smith. Our tour (one day to Sterling Castle and Callendar, not an option above) was completely made by our tour guide. He is thoughtful and funny. Kept the tour light with humor and a killer playlist. Pick up point was easy to find. Tour was well organized. Cost was fair for what we got. Scotland is the 14th country that I've traveled to on vacation and I don't normally book guided tours. This one is worth it and make sure to ask for Brian.

This was my ‘must do’ activity whilst visiting Northumberland and it looks like the weather was against us with rain and high winds forecast. Ray was happy for the tour to go ahead as long as the rain passed which it did.

And what an experience it was. I was welcomed into the group of 7 walkers being the only solo person booked on. The weather conditions made it tough and slow going in places. Ray did his utmost to tell his stories as we went but had to finish some when we reached the island.

I opted to wear my walking shoes due to the cold weather but they did get conpletely soaked at the final section when we had to go through calf height water.

The walk was rated easy on the booking page but as someone who regularly walks over 20k steps a day I would say this rating is entirely dependent on the conditions on the day.

Thanks Ray for a memorable experience.

We went to Bamburgh Castle, Ad Gefrig and Holy Isle with Alex. It was a great day trip from start to finish. Alex was very kind and had so many interesting stories to tell us and knowledge to share. He could answer all our questions. But above all he is a very great and fun guy. We will definitely see him again next year for another day trip. Thanks again Alex!

Fantastic. Sean our guide was knowledgeable and fun. There was a last minute reroute because Alnwick was closed that day. We took a scenic ride through the countryside, discussing sports, politics, history, economics and local geography. Ultimately went to Rosslyn instead where we were pleasantly surprised by more fascinating local history. All on the fly and improvised. Loved Lindesfarne castle.
