It’s the perfect spot to stroll along the promenade and enjoy the breathtaking views. If you’re brave enough to face the chilly water, you can even go for a swim! When I visited on a bank holiday, the beach was practically empty, which made for a wonderfully serene experience. Personally, I found the Walmer side of the beach to be particularly charming, what with the fishing boats and white beach huts.Written 22 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brian S121 contributionsMy uncle is a member of the deal the Deal and walmer Angling Association, and he regularly fishes deal pier. When I am visiting in Kent, I like to get a days fishing in with him. That’s exactly what we did. We arrive just before opening at 08:00 till 17:00. Whilst not a lot of fish were caught I had five dogfish and one strap conger all returned. If you like, Fishing have a day on the Pier.. if you’re in Deal take a stroll along the pier. The strolling is free Fishing is priced per rod. The deal and warmer Angling Association are a friendly bunch of people and if you’re looking for a fishing club to join get in touch. I will without doubt be returning to deal and I will be Fishing the pier. One last thing, the council, staff man, the Pier are a great friendly and welcoming bunch.Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patricia F2 contributionsA big thank you to the staff at the museum! This August I was visiting from Canada to research the history of my family who lived in Walmer and Deal. By the time we made our way to Deal the museum was only open Fri, Sat, and Sun. We would have missed them due to our return flight and I was really hoping to learn more about the Royal Marines - of which my great grandfather was a member. When I contacted the staff they kindly opened the museum up to me and were so helpful providing information about the area. The museum has a great collection that was very well organized and curated. If you are in Deal they are really worth a visit. Thank you for helping with my family history trip. Best wishes from Canada!Written 10 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul LegateUnited Kingdom20,389 contributionsKingsdown Beach is short distance from St Margaret's Bay and the White Cliffs of Dover. It is a well maintained shingle beach and whenever we have visited it has always been relatively quiet. The beach is easy to get to and there are plenty of places to park nearby.Written 20 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lorna bDover, UK3 contributionsWow! Whether you live locally or are a visitor to Deal you really must visit this amazing museum. We arranged a private visit for twenty ladies from a local WI group, all of whom were delighted and thrilled by the vast array of interesting exhibits. Joss and David provided the warmest welcome and their expertise and passion for the history of the moving image is second to none.
They were present for the whole of our visit, together with their delightful French colleague, all on hand to answer our many questions ; it was a genuine privilege to meet them.
Delicious refreshments too! The very reasonable entrance fee provides a ticket that can be used for 12 months from the date of purchase and believe me, you will want to return!Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
