Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Walk over to Granite Island or pay a fee to ride the horse drawn tram. We opted to walk as it was a beautiful cool sunny day. Walk the loop around the island and take in the amazing views across Victor Harbour. A very easy walk but restricted if you have mobility issues. We loved it and snapped some beautiful photos.

Last year the tram wasn't working, but this year we were able to get on it after the new bridge had been built. We walked back and enjoyed the scenery. We mostly were intrigued by the history of the horse drawn tram that's been around for centuries. Was nice.

With views of the sea and the Cockle Train, this is a great bikeway. We travelled by train from Victor Harbour to Middleton with our bikes. Got off the train and ride back with a coffee at the Retro Vibe Cafe in Port Elliot. This is the better way to ride because there are more downhill sections but it is up and down hill. Mostly on coastal pathways but some sections are in quieter residential roads.

Visitor centre is no longer at this address but part of the whale centre. Better location but was not offered any assistance.

Had a great lunch here. Service was perfect and all food tasted beautiful. Will definitely be back when we are over that way again next year. Met one of the owners who was very friendly and great with our kids. Highly recommended restaurant!!

It is a must do when visiting Victor Harbor. A scenic walk and the family really enjoyed it. The only downside is that some of the info boards along the walk trail were weathered and hard to read (e.g the one about lichen and granite), hopefully they can be updated soon :)

This small facility is informative but mainly based on static, man-made information displays rather than historical material. There is a genuine whale skull which is interesting but a bit more "stuff" would be good.

A short drive from VH this magnificent stretch of beach is wild and windy, perfect for walking and fishing. The sand is clean and it is very photogenic. The day I was there I would suspect there are safer places to swim.

Good tour, starts late in summer at 8.30 and we finished just after 10pm, the kids struggled to stay awake that long and one we took home early.
We saw about 8 penguins so very lucky although its a shame they have lost so many.
The old penguin center is closed now however the framework still remains however we weren't told what was behind there, I would assume nests but also appears they nest pretty much anywhere.
Would be nice to have some younger, more entertaining guides, one was quite grumpy about kids wanting to get up front to see and ask questions.
Also a lot of people, 40 on the tour, you imagine that would be quite stressful for the penguins.
If you're not able to visit the large colony on Phillip Island and are interested in Penguins I would recommend this as worth checking out.

Rosetta Head or, as it may be better known, The Bluff is synonymous with Victor Harbor and has for many years featured in promotions and logos for the town. It is also a major tourist attraction, along with Granite Island. I love the other side of the Bluff – the Petrel Cove side. This accessed by a one way loop road from Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay. There are car parks along the way enabling you to get out and enjoy the magnificent views.

From the road loop, which is shared by walkers and cyclists, there is the 600m loop walk that will take you to the top of the Bluff. The day I was there winds were quite strong so I passed on the trail – hopefully next time! But I did take time to read the very informative boards in the nearby shelter. Take time to find the Sheridan Brothers Memorial – quite a tragedy. From there it is around to Petrel Cove – stunning granite cliffs with pounding waves and a small beach that can be accessed by a set of quite step wooden steps. Then there is the Heritage Walk that starts from this car park. Along the cliffs, down to some beaches as heading towards Deep Creek Conservation Park. With the sea on one side and farm lands on the other, it is pleasant leisurely walk to take at your own pace.

Make sure you take water and food snacks with you, remembering to take the rubbish with you as you leave. And don’t forget some good walking shoes and a camera as this is a stunning part of South Australia’s rugged coastline.

A lovely walking trail with plenty to see. A shared trail for pedestrians, cyclists and dogs. There are multiple places where you can sit on the benches provided. Toilets available along the path.
