Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This attraction in the middle of the forest is a real surprise and well worth a visit. An example of how nature operates. Make the effort to visit if in the general area.

The Afghanistan Avenue of Honour is the best memorial outside Canberra and a pity it is so remote. The walk through the avenue would be stunning when the trees are flowering in November but it was a great introduction to the centrepiece, dedicated to our Afghan troops. The memorials to the mine-detection dogs and the names of our soldiers who died, including some casualties once they returned, was very fitting. The path to the lake marking the direction to Afghanistan was a nice finish.

A fabulously scenic place to visit. It has a fabulous lake and lovely rain forest- what more could you want. Unfortunately the Tea house was closed when we visited, so another visit it is.

The most important is: you actually can see a Platypus which might swim and dive around to find some food. Just don’t be confused when you see a small nose above the water surface - this is not a Platypus but a turtle.

Nice little quiet trail but we also had wonderful luck with animal sightings. Saw platypus, wallaby, tree kangaroos (don't count on this but we actually saw 3!), flying foxes, turtles and lizards.
Don't go with your hopes up (my wife missed seeing the platypus and I understand the chances of seeing tree kangaroos is very small) but whatever your luck, it is a nice walk along the creek)

These markets are great, heaps of everything for everybody .
Plan your day to get parking as it will be at a premium.
There is a lot of stalls and a meander around them is delightful .

We very much enjoyed our 2 week stay (we kept extending). Quiet with lots of wild life....birds, Pademelons, Possums, Fireflies, Bandicoots and more. Walk to the river and spot Platypus, just beware of the snakes and they are definitely around.

I am sending my good wishes to Mr. Andrew today as he restored me and my family by getting our long-lost funds from the broker who scammed us for investing in our kid's future. Andrew was able to recover our initial fund of $187,000 of our hard-earned money from these damn brokers and even got our interests for us. Andrew, I pray good food will fill your table, and good health as you work hard to help people get their funds back. Andrew May you have all the best delights in life. I hope people don't lose an opportunity or give up as Andrew the great can get them and restore your lost hope back

The Visitors Information Centre in Atherton suggested we visit Artistree in Yungaburra as we were looking for a good quality piece of carved timber for our daughter-in-law and son and their new home. We were delighted to have a large range from which to choose, all hand carved and best quality work. We were fascinated by the piece of partly uncarved tree with a length of chain embedded - as it was found. Wonder about the history behind the chain. However we chose a beautiful carved bowl whicvh will look great on theirr re-purposed timber dining table. We recommend all visitors to Yungaburra stop by and have a wander through the Gallery
