Such lovely people, clearly very embedded and committed to this lovely town and the area. Very switched on approach. Came to me asking my interests and then took it from there. I came away with a range of suggestions.
I would've loved to have done more, but with many places not staffed in the early part of the week, things like the local museum weren't available due to volunteer staffing needs I expect. So volunteer if you can!
There's a good heritage walk pamphlet that shows you all the interesting buildings. The gorgeous 1901 Post Office being a standout in the arts and crafts style. Lovely.
Look, I wish I'd had more time, I should've stayed longer, the drive to Toowoomba is not as far as I thought but we did set out late from Tenterfield.
Stanthorpe from Tenterfield is an hour at most and then off to Toowoomba which is another two hours, time could have been spent.
Historical town. Give it the time it deserves. A late arrival in Toowoomba isn't of much value to you anyway. Warwick, it's near neighbour looked wealthy and well provided for. Also worth a look and it too has an info centre.

This place is amazing. Love all the animals and decorations and gifts. The staff were friendly and we will be back. Bought a few things such as a basket for my gingerbread I make, actually bought 3 for gifts

Doesn't look like much from outside but filled with delicate treasures inside. U can taste anything they produce, which is not only items with truffle but also relishes, jams...they also do a tasting of a big variety of truffle produce. Oils, condiments like vinegar, mustard, aioli, honey...
Tasting is free. They also do tours on how they grow/find truffles but we didn't know beforehand so didn't take part.

Great spot to explore the rocks that this area is famous for. Easy walk that isn’t long that would suit most people. Dog friendly. Easy short drive from the main highway. Last part of the drive was dirt but well maintained. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Wonderful nature wonderland, if you like getting out and enjoying nature at her finest, then you will love Girraween National Park and all that granite belt has to offer.
With its own beauty and unique natural environment to explore, not like any that you may have seen before.
Lovely quaint restaurants and cafe's, typical of country towns.

The entrance to the main Cellar Door and Restaurant of Kominos is awe inspiring for such quaint surroundings. We were greeted by Mary, one of the owners, who welcomes you with open arms, almost as kin. The degustation of wine on offer is truly delightful, from the smell, then tasted on your lips plus the gentle and friendly commentary from those who you feel you have known for years.
The wines on offer at Kominos are truly inspiring, especially given the weather adversity they have persisted through.
We will definitely be back for a longer lunch/visit sometime soon as the time we had, simply wasn't enough.
We look forward to seeing both you and Tony again at your exceptional Greek events to taste your beautifully and lovingly curated vineyard creations.
PS. For all you dog lovers out there - there's the world's most BEAUTIFUL border collie named Henry. Just go!

Best reds on the Granite Belt. Grant the wine maker, a retired chemical engineer, is meticulous. Premium wines so don't be put off by the price.

A good place to visit for a lovely Lavender scone and coffee. The Lavender wasn't flowering while we were there. Plenty of Lavender products for sale. A warning though, the drive from Stanthorpe is quite a long one, even crossing back into the good old state of NSW
