Be prepared to see the crocs in their natural habitat, hear their backstories, and spot animals you didn't even know were there after he's pointed them out to you! The Tawny Frogmouth? It's hard to spot the pair, but Murray found them!
We followed Barrett, the big man on the river, during his evening patrol on our way back to the dock. It was a truly unforgettable experience that we won't soon forget.

Alex knows the Daintree like the back of his hand. He took us to see 3 species of Kingfisher (Azure, Little and Sacred). He showed us two Papuan Frogmouths - on their nests, 2 gorgeous little green tree snakes and many other birds. There were many highlights including (but not limited to) scorpions, peppermint bugs, trapdoor spider homes, bandicoots, plants like wait a while and fluorescent lichen. However watching the mushrooms sporing was just amazing.
We were quite exhausted after a great day with Kel, but we still managed to enjoy and learn from Kane. Be aware though - 1.5 hours easily turns into 2.5 hours with so much to see! Thanks Kane!

Murray knows his birds, knows his river and is an extremely clear and precise guide. Even my non-birding wife was blown away by our 2 hours with Murray. Whether you are a keen birder or just interested in wildlife, I can't recommend this trip highly enough. The Daintree is magical early morning, there's plenty to see and we had the added interest of seeing Barret (ask Murray about Barret). - emily7172Coffs Harbour 4 contributionsWe have just had the best day. Starting in Port Douglas, with a great tour guide- Justin. He was such a friendly outgoing person. He knew what he was talking about and just so informative about everything! Heading up towards the daintree we had a river cruise which even in the pouring rain was amazing. Then we saw many creeks and had a beautiful picnic lunch, enjoyed a few fantastic rainforest walks. Saw a Cassowary, and a snake along with many other beautiful creatures. Visited Cape tribulation. Then we had an amazing lunch along with a rainforest swim. Saw incredible headlands, lookouts and beaches. And to top the trip off had some lovely ice cream. The lunch was lovely, and our many stops were well planned. Definitely well worth the money! We would highly recommend to anyone who wants a great overview of crocs, indigenous lore, beaches and rainforests.
