Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A wonderful place to visit with lots of great rainforest wildlife and history. We loved it here and it was a great part of our Queensland adventure!

It’s claimed to be one of the oldest rainforest in the world, another is in Madagasscar. The unique flora and fauna here are amazing to be learned and explored. Many point of attractions, such as Daintree river cruise to encounter freshwater, estuarine crocs, platypus seeing, canopy walk, mangrove trail, seaside , swimming in capetribulation and many picturesque lookouts, one is Alexandra lookout. If you have limited time, 1 day waterfall circuit for adventurer or 1day daintree river tour is ok.

Was a bit reluctant to shell our the fee, but it turned out to be a very interesting, informative and educational afternoon. Plain, direct and in unpretentious manner we were introduced to exotic fruit and the history of the family run plantation in Cape Tribulation. If you are at all interested in botany or fruit in general, highly recommended.

We did the exotic fruit tasting. The host was friendly and happy to share her knowledge of tropical fruit farming.
The tasting was a bit long for our youngest child (5yr), but the atmosphere was friendly.

Lovely boardwalk through mangrove swamps. Will take less than an hour.

I believe parking is limited. And is right off the road so you need to be on the lookout prior to approaching the area.

One of the best ways to see the rainforest, rather than tramping through the undergrowth. Best to go on a tour at night or early morning before all the chattering tourists descend.
Farnorthescapes run an evening/dark walk through this boardwalk, and it’s amazing what you see.
Annoying things are chattering tourists, or tourists on their phones chattering away, whilst you are trying to be quiet and spot the wildlife.
On the night walk I managed to spot a python, bandicoot, rat, spiders, frogs and lots of other things.

This is a very wide, pristine beach that seems to be overlooked by many travelers. Very easy access.

This was our favourite beach to visit in North Queensland. We swam even though stingers were said to be a problem. We could not resist

This lookout on the way to Cape Tribulation is a must stop and look place. The views across the rainforest towards the mouth of the Daintree River are fabulous. Take time to admire the scenery when travelling the road to the cape.

When I was a teenager I read a book of survival where the main character was lost in the wilderness and followed the path of a creek to civilization, ever since I have wanted the same experience and this hike definately scratched that itch.
You are looking at a minimum 1 1/2 hour hike each way along a stoney creek, it is not an easy walk and my girlfriend turned back after 1/2 an hour (which meant I did an extra hour as I accompanied her back). But you will be rewarded with the waterfall and a swim in the rock pool below.
I didn't see another human or any signs of humanity during this hike and you are totally isolated in the heart of the worlds oldest rainforest.
The hike starts behind the Heritage Lodge however they no longer acknowledge its existence (theres even a sign in the driveway saying it doesn't start there) as they do not want tourist invading their lovely resort. Park on the street outside the lodge and walk in or even better stay a couple days at the lodge.
Make sure it has not been raining heavily before your hike, take 2 litres of water, let someone know you are going on the hike and start before lunch (you do not want to be stuck there in the dark).
    You will love this hike.

This collection of insects from all over the world is well worth the time and small entry fee. There is also a butterfly enclosure which showed all stages of the insects life cycle. Don't miss the beautiful picnic area and freshwater swimming hole/tropical stream on the property.
