Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic experience. From the entry to the exit plenty of history. I was not there for the art so much as the historical convent. although there are some fantastic pieces scattered through the whole building. The Cafe-restaurant seemed to have a booming trade. The bar at the end of the journey was fantastic. If you are lucky you may encounter the owner who is a very happy and entertaining . She has some great stories to share on her journey from first purchasing and renovating.

Imagine something bizarre- blink- it's there! Imagine something tastefully decorative- blink - it's there! Imagine something that makes you go 'hmmm' - blink -it's there!

This is not an " I dream of Jeannie" moment where there is a genie to grant you every wish! This is real life. The window has a rainbow coloured rhinoceros, there are coloured bulldogs sitting on a shelf, guitar art, bizarre doll art ( decapitated dolls come to this store for a new life :) ) ... but there are also some beautiful and exquisitely tasteful pieces of furniture.

This store is worth wandering into because it's going to take your imagination on an adventure. The prices are quite reasonable.

Found this gem in Victoria - the cafe is bright with clean lines and great photography on the walls.
My lunch was amazing - very reasonable - I had their breakfast wrap and Americano - absolutely delicious - wonderful service.

My wife Emily (who says she doesn't have a creative bone in her body and would only be able to draw stick figures) and I did a workshop with Art Laid Bare as part of the ChillOut Festival.

It was the perfect sized group (approx. 12 of us). It didn't matter whether or not you thought you were creative. By the end of it, we had all done something we could be really proud of.

The hosts Simon and Georgie were fantastic!! Simon is thoroughly engaging and Georgie's skill and encouragement is on point! A great couple of hours that flew by sipping sparkling, laughing and really losing ourselves in the moment. Thanks so much!! We'll be back!!

I'll start by saying the staff are beautiful people especially the lady (sorry can't remember her name but I did get the impression she was the owner) we spoke with. She was happy to show us a few pieces and explain them to us. The shops layout was easy to just walk around and view all their amazing pieces of art, jewelry etc...

It would be remiss of me not to introduce the men behind the store here...so let's start with Hans Boon described as a tall and lanky, clean-cut Dutchman, who is builder and woodworker- but more than 'just' those, he is a master to the trade.

Then of course there is David Bromley... an Australian artist best known for his painting and sculpture, in particular his portraits, and his paintings of children, birds, butterflies and female nudes.

I have described this experience as "Joie de vivre", a French phrase often used in English to express a cheerful enjoyment of life; an exultation of spirit. This will still fall short of how one is impacted wandering into this store... but it's a great start.

Stepping in is interesting, but it's only as you wander through and upstairs to the next level that you realise exactly how immersive this experience is. The works here are sublime... everything about being here is. The works done by these gentlemen are truly something special. I love the way they slowly unfold their story to you with their information randomly on the walls from time to time.

I truly do not believe writing a review will ever do it justice, because it's unparalleled to any immersive art experience I have had. The works speak to you, whisper their secrets and you find yourself leaning closer trying to hear their whispered tales.

I will long remember the visit... and I can't ever imagine a visit to Daylesford as being complete without visiting this gallery.

Owned by Emma and Struan Hopwood is this gorgeous gallery. There are distinct art styles in the store and one of them should appeal to you because they are quite diverse. I believe Struan's works are the edgy, street art type of work... vibrant in colour and they tell a story.

Whereas Emma does nudes and suits... and she does both very well. I was fortunate enough to briefly speak to her in the store... which is another appeal for anyone who loves art... you may just meet the incredible artists behind the work.

I really enjoyed my walk through their store... I have to admit my personal preference was drawn to Emma's work... but art speaks to each of us differently.

There were also a series of amazing velvet looking sculptures that intrigue your imagination. I don't believe you should visit Daylesford and miss this store!

Marked on the door as an Art Gallery, it's not really one... BUT it is still an attractive store... so beautiful from the outside it will draw you inside. Maybe there is magic afoot :)

It is a sensory delight as you wander in and are surrounded by all things glittery and intriguing. My mother would have gone 'ooooh and ahhhh' ... for me though, the foray into the store was fascinating but not life changing.

There are delightful notes along the cabinets with interesting sayings and descriptions of gemstones- these were rather like a treasure map to help you find what you searching for. The store has an incredible range of reading ( tarot and such) cards, books, greeting cards, gemstones and other interesting and quirky items.

I left here with a handful of greeting cards that were unique.
