What travellers are saying
- Kier SJacksonville, NC3 contributionsBeautiful lake with natural shorelines. Renteda pontoon from Motor-Boatin', LLC and they launched the boat for us. What a great experience.Written 1 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Don NRaleigh, NC2,092 contributionsThis is a great park with numerous facilities. There is a large recreation center (now closed because of Covid) numerous trails, a historic area. Restrooms, an amphitheatre and much more.
Walking trails are paced and have useful exercise equipment along them. There is a children's playground as well. Park is well maintained and clean. This is the star of the Wake Forest Park system.Written 26 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Even a candy shop and bookstore! Family-friendly events throughout the year.Written 13 May 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gina TRaleigh, NC4 contributionsMy family went with some food we brought from home that was recommended by the owner. It is a cross between a farm and petting zoo. The animals were sweet and the staff were kind. Read the website before you go, lots of information.Written 11 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeff PRaleigh, North Carolina, United States14 contributionsVisited with out of town friends to watch a basketball game. Great craft beer and casual environment. Not to loud to have a conversation. They don't have food but there was a food truck outside serving killer texmex. For a more bar type environment visit Tonic a few doors down.Written 5 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sardawgWinston Salem, NC1,583 contributionsA small group of us visited the museum and were given a tour of the old Wake Forest campus by the amazing Director and tour guide, Ed. He was kind and thoughtful, and taught us so much history of the university and the area. It was incredible (and honestly a little heartbreaking) to learn about Wake's move from the town of Wake Forest to Winston-Salem, and the impact it had on the town. I walked away from our visit with so much more knowledge than I could have even anticipated. This is a must-do for those interested in local history.Written 1 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Justin PRaleigh, NC4,505 contributionsFalls Lake Dam was constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and a reservoir for drinking water. There are also a number of trails and recreation opportunities at the dam. The trailrace area is right below the dam and is very scenic. It provides access to the Neuse River Trail heading downstream on the river and the 60-mile Falls Lake Trail that runs along the south shore of the lake. Additional short hike options are found around the dam area. The visitor center has more information for those interested in learning about engineering and construction of the lake. There are many spots for beautiful views of the lake, especially in the fall. I visit here regularly to hike the trails.Written 22 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Julie GRaleigh, NC83 contributionsWe go to this lake often. We love kayaking here; the lack of power boats makes for a much more pleasant experience. It’s easy to unload kayaks and put in boats. (Though on one holiday weekend, so many people left their kayaks on the spot where you put in that there was no more room to land. People should pull their kayaks up into the grass if they are going to swim or picnic.) The lake is big enough that you can spend a fair amount of time paddling around. There are lots of spots where you can just pull over and go for a swim. Sometimes there’s a lot of bird life, if you are into those things.
There’s a nice and fairly large swim beach. This is a shallow lake so the water is warm. I went for a swim once when it was almost Halloween! There are bathrooms that are clean and have changing rooms. There are picnic facilities.
This park can be heavily used, so get there early. When we were leaving (July 4 weekend) at around 2:00, the line of cars went all the way out to the road.Written 22 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. 7 courts in an indoor, climate controlled facility. Premier outdoor surface, great lighting, mesh fencing in between courts. Common areas for socializing & recharging for next game.
ERNE Ball Machines & Play Sight video too. Plenty of programming for all levels, including open play, clinics, socials, & tournament for all levels of play for members & non members alike.

Divided up into over and under 30 pounds. Benched in the shade, water for the pups, and a tall fence.Written 3 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kate MTampa, FL82 contributionsThis place is mostly used as an entry point to the Greenway, and its great for that, but it has a nice little charm all its own that if you walk the fields or even around them on the path you have a far quieter experience and much less hectic than sharing the path with all the bikes, dogs and runners. I really like this place and it is super convenient.Written 27 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
