Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved our visit here, and managed to hit most of the high spots: Frenchman Peak, Lucky Bay, Thistle Cove, and Hellfire Bay. Well worth spending a day here, but expect a lot of people doing the same, and parking lots can be quite filled.

A 2 km walk one way, park your car at Lucky Bay and walk over the granite rocks to Thistle Cove. Stunning views of the coast and islands. Thistle Cove has the whistling rock and a picnic table to have lunch.
    Go for a swim.

The white sand and clear water here is amazing. It's also a very safe beach, unlike some others in the Esperance area. One real advantage of this each over many others is that it has toilets and showers. It's very popular though, so expect lots of other people here too.

All the beaches in the national park here are lovely, but this place has bigger waves than Lucky Bay, so if that's what you're looking for, you'll enjoy this more.

You can't drive your car on the beach here, but there's lots of parking, and toilets as well. It's only a short walk to the beach. Very busy though!

To see the orange rocks you really need to climb the rocks on the left of the beach, because the orange colour can best be viewed from the other side.

I have been to a lot of beaches but this is definitely the best. The whitest sands, the bluest ocean and so peaceful. Lucky bay is very close and perfect to pick up a coffee and use the loo but if you are after some quiet time in an untapped cove Thistle is for you 👌🏼

What a stunning beach! It's a bit more out of the way, but every bit as good as Twilight Beach.

The view from the car park is stunning. There's quite a set of steps to go down, but it's worthwhile.

Beautiful clear water for swimming, and well-protected. Loved walking along the rocks alongside the beach.

Located about an hour to the east of Esperance, Wharton beach and nearby areas offer both a spectacular squeaky white sand beach but also spectacular coastal scenery, coastal bush land and birdlife. Well worth the drive out from Esperance.

My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The weather wasn't in our favour however it didn't stop us from exploring the area. We stayed in a cabin which had everything we could need.
The camp kitchen is great, stocked with cooking utensils, tea towels, dishwashing liquid, fridge, freezer. Nice bbq area aswell.
The toilet block was always clean.
The birds that have made the park their home are so nice to watch and listen to. Baby magpies and cockys screaming out to be fed. Some of the birds were quite cheeky and came in close to see what we were doing. Also saw a couple of resident bobtails out sunning themselves during the day.

We visited the estuary which was beautiful. Great spot to kayak, skim rocks, go for a wander. We spent a couple of hours there.
The lagoon beach was perfect even in the stormy weather. Great spot to snorkel, fish, collect shells, climb over rocks, build sand castles. The colour of the water is beautiful.

The owners Deb & Ross are lovely and very welcoming. Thankyou for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Overall a perfect location to go to escape the everyday hustle and bustle to be in nature.

Absolutely amazing beach. Just as beautiful as those in Cape Le Grande National Park. And we were all by ourselves. Perfect

Continuing on Cape le Grand Rd, without turning onto Lucky Bay Rd, you arrive to this large beach. The car park is large and there is also a campground nearby. From the car park it is possible to directly access the beach with a 4WD and it is easy to see a number of vehicles parked on the beach with the owners lying nearby on the beach towel. Moreover, from this beach you can drive on the sand for 22 km towards Esperance. The beach is white and beautiful, but it is not protected so it can be windy and there may be waves breaking. In the southernmost tip of the beach there were areas covered by dry Posidonia leaves. A pristine long beach with the transparent and blue sea which, in our opinion, is less beautiful than Hellfire Bay, Lucky Bay or Thistle Cove.

On Twilight Beach Rd there is the detour to the Salmon Beach car park. After about 20m on the right is the Salmon Beach car park. Alternatively, you can proceed to the left (the road to Blue Haven) but, proceeding straight to the end of the road (about 250 m) there is a small car park. From both car parks you go down to the beach using a wooden staircase (the staircase of the second car park is very short). The presence of a long stretch of flat rocks on the both sides of the bay makes this place a top spot for fishermen. Although the sea is crystal clear, this beach appears suitable for swimming only on days of calm sea in fact it is certainly open to the waves and there are sections with rocks. The north end looks better for bathing.

We explored the beach as it’s the nearest to Esperance. Lots of camp sites but some are tight. Has amenities but attracts lots of flies.
The dirt road in is a shocker for corregations in places.

One of the must sees in Esperance are the amazing sunsets.
The wind makes it difficult to watch through the whole thing.
Above fourth beach, there is a great parking but also a bench from which the sunset can be viewed.
    Recommended.
