Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

We had done a tour of wineries before and found that they changed to venues about and that 8 or more was to many places to visit.
This time we hired car and decided to see three to four per day over a two day period in the Barrosa and Adelaide Hills.
Elderton was a wine we first encountered in 1989 and loved it and still do. So it was a must to see on our list. Others where Wolf Blas, closed for several days so no luck, Two Hands and Meltons.
Certainly Eldertons has the best cellar door I have ever seen. It's a beautiful old house and you get to try wine at the counter or seating in luxury.
The bathrooms are also fantastic and not the old tin sheds of the past I was seen in other wineries.
The lady on was very friendly as we were the only ones so far this day. All quiet in the area as tourists more interested in Bike races.
They have a tasting charge, all do, but waived if you buy. We like reds so my wife, I'm driving , does the tasting and selects a number that she thinks are just fantastic. Having just returned from France were wines are not full bodied and range from 45 to 500 Euro this was a great first start.
A nice case in the post for when we get home.

This not the most attractive wine tasting place we visited. But the amazing staff more than made up for this. Very knowledgeable on the wines and advice on other Vineyards to visit (not something other Vineyards reciporicated).

This set up an awesome day for us.

    Great advice

Visited the cellar door on Sunday - what an amazing experience we had! From the minute we walked in we were warmly welcomed by Isabelle and she took us through the history of the vineyard and the wonderful tasting of their great wines. We then ventured out onto the deck with amazing views of the vineyard and enjoyed a delicious platter accompanied by a glass of their awesome wine! By far the best cellar door experience we had whilst in the Barossa and it is definitely a must for everyone! Do yourself a favour and visit Atze’s - you won’t regret it!

Laid back friendly winery that is a great spot to visit after the stuffy Maggie Beers shop. They offer a number of lawn games to keep the kids occupied and they cater well to families.

The tyre swing was a big hit with my kids

Highly valued experience listening to Alicia, explaining all the attributes of the superb wines grown at Rosenvale Winery. Her wealth of knowledge (for a newcomer) was outstanding and we were even educated on the growing techniques of all the different grape varieties too. I can't wait to tell my family and friends about this unique winery that receives a 10/10 from me. Of course, the select wines I bought added to the highlight of the day.

Loved the atmosphere, the retro decor and the friendliness of the staff. We enjoyed their wines and purchased some. Had a delicious lunch and had a laugh with the owner before leaving.

We also visited the Wolf Blass museum in Hahndorf. The one here in Nuri, was just as interesting and worth a visit.

One of my wedding couples is getting married in the Barossa and they LOVE trains, so perfect place for some photos for them with the big old steam train. Such a spacious park too for private parties. I have face painted here many times. Facilities are always clean too which is nice. Even a skate park for the teens!

This winery was on our agenda due to a previous family interaction some years ago. We were not disappointed. The lady who helped us was extremely capable and knowledgeable, and informed us about each wine that we tasted. It helped that these were beautifully crafted wines with local character. She also gave us some insight into the history of the property, and it's previous usage as a hospital, run by the Scholz family from the late 1800's to about 1960.

Nikki, Paul and Mara were incredibly gracious hosts and eager to show off all of their delicious wines. Their X range wines were a delightful change from the usual Barossa Shiraz (which we still had and enjoyed… possibly too much!!)

Thank you again for a lovely visit. We will be sure to tell our friends to make a stop here when they next visit South Australia, and we hope you do too.

What a great experience from the moment of driving in with the beautiful grounds, lovely cellar door and exceptional customer service. We had tasted the white the night before after purchasing locally and we are so glad we found this piece of gold. The red and white wines were enjoyable both couples purchased. Lady was lovely - can’t wait to enjoy more Lulu!
