Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Glad we went and the kids saw how the area used to be.

This is our first visit to Ben Boyd Tower. We visited the attraction on a recent short break in Eden. It is an easy drive from Eden with a small section of gravel road to the entrance and carpark. The walkways and viewing platforms look like the area has been recently upgraded and they have done a really good job. Also, while in the area we visited the Naval Wharf area and jetty, which was open on the day. This was a very interesting discovery and well worth a visit if it is open on the day you are visiting. The viewing areas at the Ben Boyd Tower Reserve give panoramic views of the coastline. The Tower itself is an interesting structure and you can go inside and look up at what were the various floor areas, as the timbers are still in existence. It is a short walk from the carpark to the Boyd Tower and viewing platforms.

The Davidson Whaling Station is about 16km out of town, the last 4km on a dirt road. Fine for 2-wheel drives but drive appropriately. Not for trailers or caravans.

This serene little spot has the remaining humble home of the Davidson family and shows what life was like for these intrepid early families. Life was simple, tough and demanding. Interesting artefacts in the house including some writings of family members of what life was like in the early 1900s.

The story of ‘teaming’ up with the orcas when whaling is the stuff of legends. Really fascinating. Working with the local Aboriginal inhabitants is refreshing to read, working together with respect and equal pay. Too many of our First Nations stories do not reflect this respect between folk. Nice to read a positive story.

When we were leaving a lot of family groups were arriving with picnics for the day, and it would be a nice little beach for groups to enjoy.

This was the best thing we did in Eden.

Lookout is right beside carpark, that is immediately off main road in to Green Cape area of Ben Boyd NP. Access for all abilities. One of the best beach coastal views along the south coast.

We did the 2 hour cruise around Twofold Bay Eden. The ship was sensationally comfortable and the cruise was very informative and interesting. Saw lots of life on the bay and got a great look at the bay from the water.
We would definitely do another cruise when we come back to Eden probably in the whale watching season.

Had a great morning on the water with my son and Freedom Charters. I've never fished before so appreciated all the patience and help, and definitely appreciated coming home with lots of beautiful fish. 12yo loved it too. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience with Australia's Coastal Wilderness Adventures. Scott and Emma are brilliant with their communication and planning (even when the weather turns on you).

Never far from a back up plan, we set off on an adventure that did not disappoint! From a Blue Groper to huge schools of 🐟 and even a stingray!

Emma also baked us some delicious muffins for morning tea.
