Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Celebrating its 80th anniversary, the exhibit which runs most of the year features its own collection. All types of art on display. Folk art, contemporary, impressionist, portrait, artists both local and world renowned. The labels accompanying each piece explains the art and its history. - hiker068Westfield, NC29 contributionsI had been wanting to come here for years and finally got the chance. My wife and I really enjoyed our visit. We weren't looking to do a long hike, so we asked a ranger which was the quickest way to the top, planning to go up and back the same way. We took a map, but didn't take any reading glasses (smart). We then took a wrong turn somewhere coming back down, so we ended up seeing a lot more of the park than we planned! It was all good though. We walked along the lovely creek for a while and saw a nice little waterfall. We also came upon the Clark homesite and enjoyed reading the history (we took pictures and read it later-with glasses). As someone else mentioned, there are a LOT of exposed roots on much of the trail, so be aware of that trip hazard.
I loved that the trail up the mountain was pretty direct. You don't have to walk a mile and a half to gain 1000 feet in elevation. We also enjoyed all the pretty sparkly rocks with pieces of mica in them.
I was expecting something closer to a 360 degree view at the top, but there is only maybe a 45 degree view to the north. That's the only reason I didn't rate it as excellent. It's a beautiful view though. I'm sure if you came when the leaves are off it would open up quite a bit. The bathrooms were very clean also. Over all, a great park. We loved it!Written 28 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wbjiiHickory, NC158 contributionsFew things better than baseball on a summer evening. LP Frans Stadium is a fine minor league park; there's not a bad seat there. Extra netting to protect fans is a great addition. Many nights there are long lines at the concessions, especially when only one (typically on the 3rd base side) is open.Written 26 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Quest779594317 contributionsGreat shops for everyone, toy shop for the kids, dress shops for the ladies and the olive oils shop for the guys. It was such a beautiful day we sat in the rockers and enjoyed the day!

- Mona ESpruce Pine, NC71 contributionsWe were met by a very gracious host. The self-guided tour of the house was very nice, but a fresh, neutral scent would go a long way to neutralize the old stinkiness of the furniture. The one negative would be that the house should have been cleaner than it was. There was standing dust on some of the furniture that had been there awhile. However, I am glad that we got to tour the beautiful home.Written 27 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David CDurham, NC34 contributionsThe walk along the river on the boardwalk was very shaded and relaxing. We even saw a deer wade into the water for a drink. The small shelter where we had our lunch was clean and well maintained. Parking near the boardwalk is very limited...we drove to that small lot and unloaded our picnic supplies and then moved the car back to the parking lot at the park entrance.Written 1 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
