Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- sydneysider48Sydney, Australia1,189 contributionsAround Kalbarri there are many easily located and accessible lookouts from which it is possible to enjoy spectacular views of the rugged coastline and coloured cliffs and the wide blue expanse of the Indian Ocean. We were there at the end of the whale watching season, but stlll saw some whales in the distance. At the height of the season, these lookouts would be a fabulous spot to watch the whales as hey migrate - a bonus to add to the wonderful views.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sydneysider48Sydney, Australia1,189 contributionsFrom the lookout (a short walk form a large car park) perched above the sea there is spectacular view of the sea lined with steep and rugged bright red cliffs. An awe inspiring view of the majesty and colours of nature.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sydneysider48Sydney, Australia1,189 contributionsThe walk from the Skywalk to the Z-Bend is easy and the view from the lookout across the Murchison Gorge and River to the eponymous bend in the River are spectacular. The cliffs are red, rugged and sparsely covered with low scrub and there is a primeval feel to the place and its geology.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Happy TravellerSydney, Australia9,032 contributionsDrove through the park on the way to the skywalk. We were told it was too late for the flowers but was blown away by how much was still blooming… unfortunately, due to being in a bus i couldn’t take photos … but i was happy with what i sawWritten 7 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China178,421 contributionsThese are two of the three lookout points along the National Park South Access Road turnoff on the Kalbarri Coast. There is a carpark area with signage showing the lookouts as well as the Bigurda Trail route north to Eagle Gorge.
Visitors can walk along a comfortable path to the two viewpoints where you can enjoy beautiful seascapes as well as the cliffs and beautiful land formations. We enjoyed seeing feral goats, kangaroos and interesting birdlife nearby as well as quite a few whales breaching out at see. Best to have binoculars with you if you want to do a bit of whale watching.
Overall, this is a very nice stop to make if driving along the Kalbarri Coast and wanting to take in some of the lookout points.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Kids can play in the sand and build sandcastles, adults can fish or watch the boats navigate the choppy channel from the ocean into the Murchison River. Close parking, public toilets a bit further away. Zuytdorp Memorial & Lookout also an easy walk away.Written 4 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BradHong Kong, China178,421 contributionsThis is one of two stops you can make along the south entrance to Kalbarri National Park where you find nice viewpoints of the NP and scenery around the Murchison River. You'll find a small carpark area, public toilet and a short 200 metre walk to a viewpoint. The views are really nice in the evening with the sun at your back.
There is also roughly 500 metre walk down to the river, the closest you can get to the river other than the Natural Window Loop Trail in the northern section of the NP. Overall a nice little spot to visit along with the stop at the nearby Hawks Head Lookout a just a short distance away.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Again...the paths & lookout & surrounding area is so well kept it's a credit to WA. The Bigurda Trail between Natural Bridge (south) and Eagle Gorge (north) passes through Shell House Grandstand for those intending to hike through. Bring a pair of binoculars as well and try a bit of whale watching here. We spotted a few during a 15 minutes stop here.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephanie Stevens41 contributionsLovely peaceful trip up river with a very friendly knowledgable guide/boatman. Got up close and personal with the wildlife especially the pelicans. - Marilyn C1 contributionWe did both the sunset cruise and the whale watching tour, both of which were excellent. On the sunset cruise we also saw quite a few whales and dolphins, and Vaughn went out of his way to take us closer to the activity (even though the sunset cruise does not focus on whale watching!). Plus the lobster dip is yum. On the whale watching tour we enjoyed seeing a number of whales and dolphins again. Even though they were more elusive that day, we were able to spot them and watch their activities. Vaughn was right when he told us that if you see a whale's tail go up, they are probably going to dive down and would be under for up to 45 minutes! We saw at least three different tails go up, whereupon the whales disappeared again. Huge respect for them and for Kate and Vaughn, who made both trips so enjoyable.Written 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
