Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- sydneysider48Sydney, Australia1,188 contributionsAround Kalbarri there are many easily located and accessible lookouts from which it is possible to enjoy spectacular views of the rugged coastline and coloured cliffs and the wide blue expanse of the Indian Ocean. We were there at the end of the whale watching season, but stlll saw some whales in the distance. At the height of the season, these lookouts would be a fabulous spot to watch the whales as hey migrate - a bonus to add to the wonderful views.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Meander521345Calgary, Canada68 contributionsGreat beach, great snorkeling, plenty of parking. Tons of fish, definitely not crowded as other posts have stated. - BradHong Kong, China180,317 contributionsThese are two of the three lookout points along the National Park South Access Road turnoff on the Kalbarri Coast. There is a carpark area with signage showing the lookouts as well as the Bigurda Trail route north to Eagle Gorge.
Visitors can walk along a comfortable path to the two viewpoints where you can enjoy beautiful seascapes as well as the cliffs and beautiful land formations. We enjoyed seeing feral goats, kangaroos and interesting birdlife nearby as well as quite a few whales breaching out at see. Best to have binoculars with you if you want to do a bit of whale watching.
Overall, this is a very nice stop to make if driving along the Kalbarri Coast and wanting to take in some of the lookout points.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China180,317 contributionsLocated just across the street from The Pelican Cafe in Kalbarri is the Pelican Feeding Point. You'll find a half-circle of seating benches where around 8.45am each morning a volunteer will come by with a bucket of fish to feed wild Pelicans awaiting the designated feeding area.
The volunteers give around 10-15 minutes of information about the pelicans, their feeding and habitation activity and let the little ones feed the pelicans. Seems pelicans are not always around. On the morning we visited, we saw a couple arrive around 8.15am. They just hang around the area until the designated feeding time.
Note: There is a donation box if you want to contribute to the community volunteer pelican feeding programme.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Kids can play in the sand and build sandcastles, adults can fish or watch the boats navigate the choppy channel from the ocean into the Murchison River. Close parking, public toilets a bit further away. Zuytdorp Memorial & Lookout also an easy walk away.Written 4 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sydneysider48Sydney, Australia1,188 contributionsThe view of the stunning seascape of rolling seas, coastline and rocky cliffs from Eagle Gorge is wonderful. The Gorge is easily accessible and is well worth a visit to admire this unique landscape.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan LBunbury, Australia8,891 contributionsNice white sand beach stretching both sides of the jetty and access ramp. A few 4WD on the beach, possibly belonging to the boats at anchor near the shore. The exposed reef is better viewed from the lookout, fairly spectacular on the day with waves breaking the exposed sections. Not sure why the place is called Port Gregory when all maps and my GPS have it recorded vas Gregory.Written 5 October 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China180,317 contributionsThis is one of the stops you can make along the Kalbarri Coast south of the town of Kalbarri. There is a carpark and elevated grounds from which you can see beautiful red cliffs. There is also a short walk down to the beach (200 metres return) if you want to get close to the water.Written 11 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, China180,317 contributionsThis is one of two stops you can make along the south entrance to Kalbarri National Park where you find nice viewpoints of the NP and scenery around the Murchison River. You'll find a small carpark area, public toilet and a short 200 metre walk to a viewpoint. The views are really nice in the evening with the sun at your back.
There is also roughly 500 metre walk down to the river, the closest you can get to the river other than the Natural Window Loop Trail in the northern section of the NP. Overall a nice little spot to visit along with the stop at the nearby Hawks Head Lookout a just a short distance away.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The trail skirts along the sea cliffs and through interest arid environs and grounds, it is not difficult but best to have good walking shoes and to follow guidance at times not getting too close to the cliffs over the sea.
You'll see interesting geology, very photogenic scenery and can get a fair hike in just a few minutes drive from Kalbarri town centre. The hike can be comfortably done in 60-75 minutes.Written 10 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
