Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You can take the Minilya - Exmouth turnoff road and travel 11 km into to the canyon, along windy road that travels up to and along the rim from which you are afforded remarkable views into the canyon on both sides of the road. This road is accessible with 2wd and doesn't require park entry fee.
We visited midday enjoying the spectacular colours of the rim and gorge walls when the sun poured into the canyon. During a second visit, we arrived at first light enjoying a bit of breakfast during sunrise which you can see from a handful of the pullover lookout points along Charles Knife Rd.
Near the end of the road there is a short 1 km turnoff which leads to a a small carpark, the Thomas Carter Lookout and the Badjarrijarri Trailhead for those seeking to hike up to the remarkable Shothole Canyon Lookout. This is a great hike and viewpoint if you are considering hitting one of the gorge trails around the Cape Range NP and Ningaloo World Heritage Area.Written 8 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, ChinaNingaloo Centre is a complex across the street from the RAC Holiday Park in the heart of Exmouth town centre. In addition to research & conference centres and the Exmouth library, you will find a tourism Visitor Centre, Cafe as well as the Ningaloo Aquarium & Discovery Centre. Opening hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm (weekdays) and 9am to 4.30 (weekends).
We visited and found helpful tourism brochures around the Ningaloo coastal area and Cape Range National Park as well as some interesting merchandise. Staff on hand seemed very helpful as well. You can arrange tours here and there are clean toilets. Tickets are required for the aquarium & discovery centre.Written 2 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, ChinaWe recently spent a few nights in Exmouth and enjoyed exploring the Ningaloo Coastline, array of beautiful sandy beaches, shallow turquoise coloured waters as well as the remarkable arid landscape and gorges of the Cape Range National Park.
This is a great area for lazy days at the beach, snorkelling as well as scenic drives and hiking around Mandu Mandu, Yardie Creek and the Charles Knife Drive area. A shout out for the small town of Exmouth as well for the very good breweries, restaurants and general setup there for hosting travellers seeking to spend time visiting this unique location in WA.Written 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. That was a good idea. This is a fantastic beach.
I don't think I have ever seen such an expanse of clear aquamarine water anywhere in the world.
It was also protected from waves by a reef.

Our guide gave an overview of the types of nesting turtles that can be found including green, loggerhead and hawksbill turtles. The interpretive displays provide information about the turtles’ life cycle, the threats facing them as well as how to view the mating and nesting turtles to minimize impact on their natural environment. Opened all year, eco-education tours are offered during the months of December through March. No animals are allowed.Written 5 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bluebay06La Spezia, ItalyThis beach, north of Exmouth, can be reached by continuing on Murat Rd at the intersection with Yardie Creek Rd. Turning right just before the Naval Communication Station, the road reaches the coast. Going south you reach the boat Ramp, while towards the north there is a large car park. Here you will find toilets and showers as well as a café with outdoor tables. The beach is beautiful, with clear water and coral reefs very close, although obviously the conditions depend on the direction of the wind (here unfavorable if it blows from the east). We swam and snorkelled, but you have to be careful with the boats. For boats put to sea or recovered at the boat ramp there is in fact a channel that runs along the beach and the exit towards the open sea is marked by the red and green buoys you can see a hundred meters north of the café. The more than 300 m high antennas of the Naval Communication Station near the beach are impressive. A pleasant way to spend a few hours on the beach not far from Exmouth.Written 22 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The wreck was part of a day’s drive during which we saw humpback whales and turtles from the shoreline, and the visit to the wreck coincided with a low tide, all evidencing what a wonderful yet perilous coastline Australia has.Written 21 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BradHong Kong, ChinaThis is a WWII Memorial near Learmonth RAAF base south of Exmouth which commemorates Operation Potshot, a secret US Navy submarine re-fueling facility located here between 1942-45 as well as Operation Jaywick, a secret raid of Singapore Harbour which was launched from this location in 1943.
There are panels with information describing both operations as well as the daring but failed Operation Rimau, a second raid attempt of Singapore Harbour in 1944. You can also learn about other WWII era facts about the area as well as the American influence and contribution to the establishment of Exmouth.
All makes for an interesting 15 minute stop along the Exmouth-Minilya Highway just south of Exmouth. Those with interest in WWII history will appreciate the brief stop here.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CulchethheathsNorth WestPerfectly organised trip. We felt safe and looked after from the start.
