Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Totally fun decor (beware the grape weasel!), tried several different wines and bought a few. They have some just right sized snack packs with cheese, olives crackers that are just the right size to "cleanse the palate" while enjoying wines or a hard cider. Staff was friendly, good music, clean restroom, decent gift shop.

We saw Hector Falls on many occasions driving back and forth on Rt 414 between our lodging in Montour Falls and the wineries and breweries we were visiting along the southeast and mid coast of Senaca Lake over the course of 2 days. The 250 ft drop of the falls are striking since they come upon you so fast due the topography and the fact the falls are so close to the Seneca Lake shoreline. Unfortunately, there is little room to park so you have to be inventive and careful due to the traffic, but well worth the time. Hector Falls is located only about 3-4 miles north of Watkin Glen on the southeast side of Lake Seneca.

It always seems like a party when you go to a tasting at Leidenfrost. People were coming and going on the Sunday afternoon that my husband and I were there. There was an experienced man at the tasting bar and a young lady who was a brand new employee. She did very well explaining the different wines.

We purchased two semi-dry wines - the Cayuga White and a red wine named Burlesque. Though the Log Cabin Rose was quite sweet, it was delicious so we bought that also. For those who aren't wine drinkers or are designated drivers, they offer a snack list and non-alcoholic beverages.

We stopped in to Chateau Lafayette Reneau for some light bites and a glass of wine. This winery has a very pretty scenic view of Seneca Lake with outdoor seating on their patio and large windows inside. We visited on a Sunday early afternoon. It was not very crowded. But we appreciated the peace and quiet.
We ordered the pimento cheese dip and artichoke dip. We also had a glass of a semi-dry riesling and a dry riesling. Everything was priced reasonably and very tasty.
We're very happy we stopped in.

Great local brewery with a nice selection of beers on tap. Friendly. knowledgeable staff. Reasonably priced flights so you can experience their beers before committing to a pint!

Another expensive wine experience in the Finger Lakes. Only five out of seventeen wines cost less than $20 a bottle. If you know have been before or fairly sure of what you want to try, I suggest a glass of wine rather a flight. They do create interesting blends using experimental varieties as well as sparklers. I really enjoyed the Julia White Field Blend. Again, I miss the days when Standing Stone's bar was basically a board in a barn. The wines were great. They still are exceptional, as is the view and the new tasting rooms.

Had a tasting with one of the winemakers, who was very welcoming and informative about their approach and mission. Bloomer Creek has a singular vision, producing wines with minimal intervention. The results are delicious and distinctive high-quality wines. Open only on Saturday and Sunday during high season. Really glad we made the effort to stop by. If you're serious about wine, check them out. Very attractive tasting room with more of a homey feel than many others in the area. Lovely view from the property.

Summary: Nice building, friendly and helpful staff, and good wines.

Food: Delicious foods for a good price. The food was also served quickly (though the restaurant was mostly empty).

Wine: Good wines! Plenty of options (many different Rieslings) and great tasting room staff (Tameka and Sam were both fantastic at explaining the wines and recommending ones to try).

Ambiance/View: Pretty building with plenty of space for larger groups, and a pretty view out of the windows in the restaurant side.

This was one of four stops while visiting Watkins Glen. This was a pretty good stop. The gentleman running the tasting room was friendly and welcoming. We had a nice table looking over the lake and vineyards. They had a “pick 5 of 6” along with preset flights. The Rose was very good and the Rieslings were good too.

My wife and I stayed on an AirBnB on the property. Amazings views from this vineyard and orchard. Run by a 6th generation family that are also related to the owners of Hazlitt 1852.

Their son is part owner of The Hector Wine Company and Sawmill Creek provides the grapes for their wines as well as grapes for about a dozen other local wineries.

This is a hidden gem! Stop in and pick some fruit and be sure to stop in to Hector Wine Company too!

While looking for a place to eat in the area we found this place in which was connected to the burger place. While waiting for our burger order I decided to try a beer. The IPA that I selected was excellent!!! We will go back when we’re in the area!!!

I stop here every year and am always tempted by the artwork I see. This collective has reasonable artwork, photos, soaps, etc., all made by local artisans. I have three pieces from Hector Handmade and cherish them. Please stop here and see this wonderful business!
