We found great results, but some are outside Neuville-Saint-Vaast. Showing results in neighbouring cities.
Limit search to Neuville-Saint-Vaast.
Necropole Nationale Francaise de Notre-Dame de Lorette Ablain-Saint-Nazaire 4.4 km away
#1 of 6 Sights & Landmarks in Ablain-Saint-Nazaire
... provides an unparalleled view over what were among the bloodiest battlefields of WWI, but it is also suffused with that sense of peace and tranquility which can be found on so many of these commemorative sites.
A very moving visit to this site, the world's largest French military cemetery, which contains the remains of over 40,000 soldiers both in the ossuary and in rows of graves marked by simple crosses.

Memorial de Vimy Vimy 5.7 km away
#1 of 1 Sights & Landmarks in Vimy
The Vimy Ridge Memorial site is a must-see for anyone seeking to visit World War One sites - as the National Canadian memorial site, it is run by young bi-lingual Canadians who provide guided tours of the tunnels...
The memorial includes a large heavily cratered battlefield, trenches and tunnels, museum, commonwealth cemetery and the magnificent memorial on the edge of the ridge with an impressive view of the lands beyond.

Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof Maison Blanche
#1 of 5 Sights & Landmarks in Neuville-Saint-Vaast
This cemetery is a very sombre and moving site; each grave identifies four Germans (mass graves for German soldiers were common).
This site contains the last remains of almost 45,000 German casualties of WW1, brought together here from many cemeteries in the area when the French demanded the return of the land where these other burial sites...
Lens' 14 - 18 Centre d'Histoire Guerre et Paix Ablain-Saint-Nazaire 5.1 km away
#3 of 6 Sights & Landmarks in Ablain-Saint-Nazaire
The centre gives an excellent overview of WWI and the effects of the war: on the Somme/Flanders areas; the battle sites; trench warfare; and the French people.
I would say this museum gives probably the best overall view of the Great War of all the ones we've visited in Belgium and northern France.

Zivy Crater Arras 1.8 km away
#13 of 21 Sights & Landmarks in Arras
we made a road trip from Paris to Vimy, and along the way stopped at multiple craters and war sites.
Note: If you are traveling from Neuville-Saint-Vaast to Thelus, along the D49, take the turn-off to a construction site on your right, before you go over the bridge crossing the A26/E15.
Place des Heros Arras 7.5 km away
#3 of 21 Sights & Landmarks in Arras
It is a lively location with many terraces where you can enjoy the impressive view on the beautifully restored square and its buildings with their uniform architecture, with a drink.
While we were in Arras as a stop over to see Vimy we took time to wander around and take in this site.
Faubourg-d'Amiens Cemetery Arras 7.8 km away
#1 of 21 Sights & Landmarks in Arras
Thanks to the excellent CWG Commission web site easily located the correct stone and spent some time looking around the very peaceful and moving memorial and cemetery.
Like all Commonwealth War Graves Commission sites, it is well tended and it is easy to locate the grave (if one exists) or the name engraved on the memorial wall of the person you want to remember.
Lichfield Crater Arras 1.2 km away
#14 of 21 Sights & Landmarks in Arras
Beautifully kept memorial, as are all the Commonwealth War Graves Commission sites.
It was worth straying off the standard beaten path and while ok in summer or a dry winter I would advise not visiting when its muddy and wet just in getting to road and to site could be difficult.
Grand Place Arras 7.4 km away
#6 of 21 Sights & Landmarks in Arras
Lovely architecture, great shops bars and restaurants, also close the Somme sights for history buffs - will return soon!
Arras with its Grand Place is more than 2,000 years old and the mix of Spanish and Flemish architecture as well as the Roman ruins at the archaeological site certainly make for a "bon voyage" back in time.
Cimetiere du Cabaret Rouge Souchez 3.9 km away

Our guide of the underground was terrific in giving us a view and perspective of what might have taken place in 1916 and 1917.

Really interesting site, staff at the reception and the young Lady who guided us round were great, very friendly and bi-lingual which helped us limited French speakers.
