Las Vegas is an unapologetically flashy city, and most of its shopping centers are extravagantly designed, too. In many cases, Las Vegas shopping is as much about the shopping experience and showy surroundings as it is about what you actually take home. It’s common for boutiques to be set amid ancient Roman replicas, dramatic fountains, thumping music and blazing lights, and restaurants conceived by Michelin-starred chefs. If you’ve got a budget to stick to, however, you can head to the outlets instead, where you’ll score steep discounts on coveted labels.
The StripIt may be the most obvious place to shop in Las Vegas, but it's also head and shoulders above what many of the world’s cities can offer in terms of retail meccas. Amid the neon lights, big-name shows, ultra-fine dining, and throngs of tourists from all over the world, Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as “the Strip,” is a haven for every type of shopper, no matter what they happen to be hunting for. From designer brands to cheap knockoffs, the vast majority of Vegas’s things to buy are right here. If it’s department stores you’re looking for, the Fashion Show Mall has you covered, with Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue. Many of the best stores tend to be in hotel complexes, including the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood, and Aria’s Shops at Crystals. Others, like the Grand Bazaar Shops and the Showcase Mall (home of the Coca-Cola Store and M&M’s World, stand independent of any resort. The Strip even has outlet stores: Head to the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard for the indoor Las Vegas South Premium Outlets, home of amazing deals on great brands.
