Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- C...Victoria, Australia92,377 contributionsOooh this is the hostess with the most-ess as parks go ... this park has a bit of everything. There are picnic settings- undercover BBQs and tables, wetlands- full of excited fowl ( who wouldn't want to live here splish-splashing like a duck?!?!), toilets - enough said, water fountain, walking tracks, across the road there is an off leash dog park... a playground area... with tractors and giant horses and fantastic things for children to explore. There is even a small carpark!
I did mention it has the most-ess! The playground is also fenced, not gated, but fenced... so a lot of thought has been put into this rather amazing playspace.Written 18 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are bench seats and plenty of water birds to observe (various duck species and Black Swans).Written 17 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kristine WMernda, Australia100 contributionsWe took our grand daughter to this delightful park, she loved climbing, the see saw, swings, the huge slide. Played in the sand pit, you know it She loved it. We also took bread to feed all the ducks and wild birds, this place is great for just a stroll or with children to play with all the equipment there is. I will take my grandchildren there time and time again.Written 7 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - C...Victoria, Australia92,377 contributionsThis is another of the parks that have been incorporated into a housing area... to add to the experience of the homeowners... a place to reset with other community members.
At this park you will find unshaded seats, grassy area, a half basketball court, shelter with seats, unshaded tables, BBQ and water tap. There is also a rotunda and gorgeous leafy trees creating an avenue as you walk along the paths.
The only real issue with these parks is they are designed for those who live there which means they do not require public toilets...so this is not somewhere you would make a day of it at... it's a quick stop if you are in the area... or if you are a local, you can spend a day here because you can get to your own facilities quickly.Written 13 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I always find parking difficult when i visit. Coles is the major draw card. Billy's Junction is a great restaurant. there's a few take away places, a barber, Chemist Warehouse. Nothing to rave about, surprised it'd been reviewed by someone! Opposite the Mernda Pub which has yummy meals.Written 31 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- C...Victoria, Australia92,377 contributionsThis suburban park has a playground and four sheltered BBQs... so it's a great place to take the kiddies to play and make a day of it. The trees are quite established offering a beautiful backdrop to the playground. There is bench seating available at the site so you can watch the little ones play, picnic tables, large grassy areas and water fountains.
There is a shopping complex not too far away if you want to grab a few things and make a picnic here...or come prepared! ( As you can gather... I rarely come prepared and have to resort to supporting the local stores. )Written 14 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Sweeping avenues of trees run alongside the paths giving it a symmetrical appearance. At one end of the park is a shelter with a single square seat inside... and if you follow the path to the other end of the park ( about 100metres) there is a children's playground.
It's a green space for those living in the community.. .it's been well done, but the upkeep on the gardens is a bit overdue. The trees were stunning.Written 13 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is some gym equipment in the park to be utilised at will. paths snake through the small park and access is easy for prams/wheelchairs/bikes etc.
There is an electric BBQ available, and a bin too. Small area protected by shade cloth and a picnic table/bench seats.
Lots of grass for the kids to run around, or for dogs to enjoy walking on.Written 8 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Few facilities, but some parrots flew overhead and it was not far to some real wildlife in the Plenty Gorge PathWritten 17 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - C...Victoria, Australia92,377 contributionsThe St Joseph's Catholic Church, Mernda is part of Christ the Light Catholic Parish and the Diocese of Melbourne. The first Mass in the district was celebrated in 1857 in a private home. Plans for a church building commenced in 1874, with contributions from the whole community. It was opened and blessed on 23rd February 1884.
Most of the bluestone works of this beautiful building were carried out by the local stonemason, Mr Sandy Whitten, of 'Preston Hall', Mernda.
This church is in the most unusual location- located on an exceptionally busy road with nothing near it. Whilst you can pull your car in here, you need to be careful simply because of the traffic.
There are bollards around the church, I am unsure of why they are there because there is no sign of construction. The front of the bluestone church has been marked with it's opening year of 1884 ( there is a circular disk under the cross) ... however, I feel that at 140 years of age it's no longer going to be utilised for what it was built for. There is a sign on the front of the door telling you that mass is now at the Nazareth Centre and the door has bars on it.Written 3 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It faces the car park on the side away from the station. Footpaths are incomplete and make foot traffic difficult. It has a large supermarket, plus various specialty stores, plus fresh food, and cafes.Written 10 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - platypus150Melbourne, Australia32,874 contributionsBuilt from local bluestone and dating back to 1888, the old building sits opposite the Bridge Inn Hotel. It has a fairly massive and brutal architectural style, but has served its purpose well over the years.Written 10 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
