For hiking, snow-shoeing, xc-skiing or off-road trails, check out the Vasa or Boardman River Trail (my fav), both offer excellent opportunities to view wildlife & connect with nature.
The scenery is gorgeous, as it meanders through the woods, alongside parks rivers and the Grand Traverse Bay.

A paved walking, biking, and running path links all park areas along the shoreline; it's a beautiful urban asset!!!
We love to see movies at the Bijou in Clinch Park, plus take kids to the water fountain to play, or take a walk and enjoy the beautiful views from the marina.

The Boardman Nature Center provides a wealth of information for gardeners and everyone interested.
I let them keep it for a donation--I live in Florida and haven't found a nature center close by with so much cool stuff for kids to experience.
