Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this iron ore mine due to my teenage son that loves this history. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and had actually worked at the mine before it closed. There is a fee for the tour, but worth it and would be great for a rainy day activity for sure!

Ok, so I stated very good. That is debatable. The place is kind of run down, but there is some humor to it. The gift shops were nicer than I had expected. We all found something to buy. The outside museum was very quirky and sure wouldn't interest all. Though let me end with this...it isn't a New York art museum. It is a YOOPER Tourist trap and I found it worthwhile to drive a few miles from Marquette to check it out.

I heard many locals talking to the owner in pleasant, small town ways. I did purchase some items but even if I hadn't it would have been worth the walk around to see the different things available. Upstairs I really enjoyed the woman's clothing area (vintage and other)
The jewelry counter is quite extensive. I found many old postcards and old cigar boxes.

Perfect for all ages. Offers moderately difficult biking and ski trails, nice park areas, sledding, nice walking trails, baseball areas, volleyball nets and pavilions . It’s beautiful.

My husband is an avid skier and he loved our visit here. This is a self-guided tour though an abundance of skiing history, equipment and professionals as well as Olympic memorabilia. A must-stop for ski enthusiasts.

Service was excellent. Beer was good, but not great. We're ipa lovers and their current offerings were not that great in my opinion unfortunately. We would give them another try on our next trip through the U.P.

This was old school Upper Michigan entertainment. A free outdoor museum of the oddities of Michigan's upper peninsula. It is attached to a store that had the usual tourist junk and some unique art.

We chose to do the one hour trail ride during a beautiful fall day. The owner Joanie, led us and had two of her wranglers bringing up the rear so we were absolutely supervised the whole time. We were offered helmets and our mounts were suited perfectly to us. All horses were calm but responsive and perfectly safe. These horses are trained properly and do not have the sour tempers many trail horses do.
The forest trails are well-maintained and offer enough variety that you will not be bored. The stables offer pony, wagon and sleigh rides as well.
Joanie and her wranglers see everything and help you all along the way. If you are a beginner you will be well-supervised and have a safe horse. If you are experienced sit back and enjoy the scenery on a horse that you won't have to train while you are riding.
Rides of this calibre are getting harder and harder to find so take advantage of one of the very few in the U.P.--don't forget to bring a few carrots along for your new friend.

Delicious home-cooked entrees, soups, and baked goods using high quality regional products. Great selection of teas served. Many unusual sodas. Organic grocer and goods ranging from roasted coffee to vermicompost worm castings and tie dye clothing! Interesting selection of wines and beer. I discover something new every time I visit. A fun size diamond in the rough.
