Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was one of our favorite places, thanks to the privacy and the cleanliness. There were many, many people at the well-known sites
in Maine, so this was a very pleasant surprise. We had a marvelous
picnic lunch and a nice walk on one of their trails. We highly recommend it.

I walk it with my dog almost daily...we love the Homestead Trail, (which is easy) and the Eastern Ledges Trail, (a little bit of a hike but also easy). Enjoy it while you still can, is my advice. The state of Maine and forces of 'progress' have slated the island to be pretty much destroyed for peace and quiet in the next few years when a wind turbine transportation facility will level about a 100 acres of the 600 acres of this really special spot. A few members of the 'progress at all costs' crowd have suggested that the island can still be enjoyed by birders and hikers...

    How?

Would any of you reading this enjoy industrial noise and traffic pollution the whole time you are trying to enjoy the place?

    Pretty sad day.

A wonderful park. Picnic tables with charcoal grills. Several places to sit on Memorial benches to look out over the bay. A large lawn area and playground for children. Pets allowed. Steps down to the shore where there is a tidal beach. Lovely place to picnic and spend the day.

I love it here so much! Treasure hunting at its finest. It does require you have some imagination or at least go in with some ideas of what you are looking for. I could have spent hours here. Unfortunately, it was raining so we didn't get to look around much outside. The Owner Jeff is so nice. An absolute pleasure to deal with. Thank you!!

While on another trip through the area, I stopped by to see the model ships and other nautical items again. The prices for the completed models are pretty reasonable, considering how much work goes into putting them together.

I didn't have time to actually go into the library during my stay in Searsport, so this review is based on the library's architecture and history. I discovered it was built in 1909 in memory of Captain George Carver and was built with stones from the Carver family's Moose Point property. Next visit, I'll definitely make a point of seeing its interior.

There's a Searsport United Methodist Church and a NORTH Searsport United Methodist Church. The other reviewer noted that it's a brick church in downtown Searsport that serves turkey dinners -- that's the Searsport United Methodist Church. The North Searsport one in a white clapboard church. Anyway, I went to the downtown brick church and was fortunate enough to meet a church member who let me inside to see the stained glass that was very stunning. I also loved the white-painted tin ceilings and the curved wooden pews. Worth a visit (if you can get in) or get there on a Sunday.

I always stop by and admire this church when I'm in the area. It's never open when I'm there because I'm never there on a Sunday, but I love its exterior architecture.

Totally charming place with very good chocolate. You must stop in to see the shop in an old bank and stay a while to be delighted! I highly recommend this sweet shop!

This Cavalry chapel church is located across the street from the Bowditch Cemetery. It's not really noticeable if you're driving on Route One because it's set back from the highway. I only noticed it because I visited the cemetery.

Super great time. Can go for 9 holes or 18. They have a great Tuesday special with cart for $20 per person. Club rental is $5. Beautiful grounds. Amazing customer service from Susan. Grab lunch at their snack bar. Perfect day for social distancing. We have been coming and enjoying for years. This place is for sale but has not been sold yet. It is a local gem. There is great pride and care taken for the grounds and the course. It is a laid back golf course with an amazing layout. It is affordable and enjoyable.
