Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Southern most point on Russell Island the Sandybeach park has a playground, beach, shelter, nice big shady trees and some BBQ and picnic shelters. There is a beach shower and toilet facilities.
There are a couple of little studio galleries- Turning point gallery (wood and stained glass) and Sandybeach studio (fused glass and other art). All the cafes and shops are at the other end so make sure you bring your food and drinks with you, but it’s a lovely spot for a picnic.
The local Taxi and the SMBI transport are the best way to travel around if you aren’t bringing your own car. They aren’t expensive and and you can do a tour with them or buy a day pass.

Probably the only place on the island with walking trails.
See uploaded map. Walk took us about an hour round trip for about 3.5km total
Did not see any wildlife yet constant bird chirping all the way

A beautiful park with beautiful views, a BBQ and setting area, plus a boat ramp. A nice and peaceful place to relax.

The sporting heart of Russell island. So many locsl sporting clubs and teams use these facilties. We like how new and well maintained it is. Easy access from the ferry and toilets and carpark are easy for wheelchairs. Dont miss this spot!
