Monkey, our tour guide spoke decent English and kept a close eye on us for safety. Lady boy, was a wonderful helper and had hearty lunch packed for us. The immensity of the Paradise cave complex has to be seen to be believed; seeing the Phong Nha caves by boat was also incredible. Our tour guide ‘King’ the manager, was very informative paradise cave was beautiful and the dark cave was a great experience I felt like Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie predator. - ＬＡＭ ＨＡＩ4 contributionsVery beautiful place, traveling on the river is very romantic, going deep inside Phong Nha cave is super beautiful and magical, the water in the cave is cool, the stalactites emit a very beautiful glitter, I really like it, it's very beautiful. Suitable for groups and families who want to explore nature, however inside there are many photographers coaxing customers to take photos even though they know they only do it to make a living, but it is quite unsightly and not beautiful. - Đạt N37 contributionsFabulous trip made even better by our wonderful guides. A couple of things to mention.
1. Paradise cave ( we did in the morning). Mainly steps and boardwalk so trainers or we’ll fitting sandals are best.
2. Dark cave (we did in afternoon) - footwear is strictly barefoot - no exceptions.
3. Swimsuit is permitted as long as it doesn’t have sleeves/legs/skirt.
4. Take your oldest swimsuit- not sure if mine has permanently changed colour!
5. They sell plastic camera covers near to where you get changed - they are in a glass case in front of the desk - wish we had seen these.
That’s it.

I went to the botanical gardens, paradise cave and dark cave in a day which was all very different. From the history of the caves to the views and experience of it all is one of a kind. If you are looking for a moderate hike, a 15min on a cement and stairs gradual path, the paradise cave is a must see. The lunch was very good and they cater to vegeterians. Its a time when we all get to sit down and socialize. If you want to up the level of adventure, dark cave take you threading barefoot through armpit high waters and through slippery mud tunnels to a mud puddle where you can smear your body in mud and wash off in the river.
