IL Route 66 Association Hall of Fame & Museum
#1 of 7 Museums in Pontiac
The residents of this charming mid-west town have done a fantastic job with displays, and you'll see things you haven't before in other "fancy" museums.
Many other wonderful museums downtown.
Pontiac-Oakland Automobile Museum
#2 of 7 Museums in Pontiac
Inexpensive compared with other places we stopped at where hats were upwards of $20. Head off the Interstate to this smashing little town and visit this and it’s sister museums and attractions.
Who would say such a small town has such two great free museums???
Livingston County War Museum
#3 of 7 Museums in Pontiac
Stocked with uniforms, medals and memorabilia donated by local county and area residents allows the museum and its extremely knowledgeable volunteers to tell the stories of these individuals in a way few museums can.
I love military history, and do my best to visit local museums while on vacation.
International Wall Dog Mural and Sign Art Museum
#4 of 7 Museums in Pontiac
Loved following the footsteps in town and finding the murals painted by "Wall Digs," which we learned about at the museum.
Over 20 wall murals, most near the Route 66 museum including murals of a soda fountain, petrol station and a couple of Route 66 related murals.
Museum of the Gilding Arts
#5 of 7 Museums in Pontiac
As with all other Pontiac Museums it is donation only.
It's nice to visit a free museum with a friendly, enthusiastic, well trained employee.
