A visit to the Rialto Square was part of the American Theatre Organ Society convention this year. It has been amazingly and lovingly restored. The lobby is meant to look like the palace at Versailles and the auditorium is beautiful. The organ is brilliant and we thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

Our family has been learning about Route 66 and exploring Illinois' route history. We decided to stop by the Old Joliet Prison and glad we did. To be honest, we weren't exactly sure what to expect and it ended up being quite different than we imagined. The condition of the prison is quite bad. I guess I had assumed they had worked to keep it up. This certainly isn't an insult but instead my ignorance. In fairness it would be a huge place to maintain.

Although I did see some guided tours available (maybe only certain dates and times?) we opted for the self-guided experience. In hindsight, I wish we would have chosen differently. I think it would have made for a richer tour. I also wish the staff would have engaged more by offering to share information (stories & facts) instead of simply asking if we had questions. We were overwhelmed and didn't know what to ask.

All in all, this is a unique adventure and a great one to experience. To see the abandoned cell blocks, offices, etc creates an iery feeling.

Great Location and interesting, well organized and very enlightening!
Greeted at the Admission Desk by Staff Susan and Curt, who were so friendly and proud of both their City and Museum! So well deserved, because the Experience is one of the best ever! A Perfect way to start our Summer Road Trip!

We always enjoy a few hours at the casino. Drinks are reasonably priced. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. Fun small casino and is my favorite if I can not get to Four Winds

Nice variety of sponsor tents before the race, and plenty souvenir trucks, too. We had pit passes, and it was fun to walk on the track, sign the start finish line, see the pit stalls and the garage area if the top 10 drivers. I was glad we had the on line info that said we were allowed to get to the garage since the first 2 people didn't want to let us in. When presenting the written information to a third person, we were allowed in. We saw part of the included pre race concert, as well as driver introductions. Unfortunately we had an almost 3 1/2 hour rain delay, but once the race started it went off without a hitch. Nice we could bring in coolers with drinks as it was a very hot and humid day.

My boys and I purchased a lap package for their mom as a 2018 Christmas gift...GREATEST GIFT EVER...!!! First, I would like to say that everyone at the track, from the personnel at the registration desk to the pit crew, was very friendly AND patient. As my wife was blindfolded until we were literally at the registration desk, and had no idea what she was about to do, she was absolutely floored when we revealed the present. If your wife/gf has any interest in racing or cars, I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend this as a gift. My wife would kill me if I gave away her age, but, she is older than me and I am (50). And, she can not drive stick. So, age and manual transmissions are not an excuse. They were very patient and worked with her, not only getting her on to the track, but, off safely. If you were to do this, I would definitely recommend the ride-along. That way you have a feel for the track prior to going out there by yourself. HUGE bonus and well worth the money. My wife was one of the first drivers out on Saturday (0800) and she was still talking about it last night (Sunday). I think she is going to be talking about for quite some time. Thanks to everyone at Rusty Wallace Racing for giving my wife one of the most memorable experiences of her life. Side note, even though their mom was racing, they also had the some exotics there for an auto-cross and my boys could NOT take enough pictures. It was a great day all around.

Stopped by for one reason. To get a hat. This team has one of the best nicknames and mascots in sports. Had no idea where to go. Found a parking place and a open door. I was greeted by a nice young man who couldn't help me but found someone who could. The nice lady took me to the gift shop, which wasn't open and let me get what I wanted. I will definitely catch a game if I ever get back.

I got the 10 lap shoot out for Christmas and finally got to do it in August, was one of the coolest things I've ever done, I was really nervous, but once I got through the class and into the car I calmed down, the crew they have there talked like everybody is a friend, my spotter was very clear and encouraged me to get to my limit, I will do this again for sure.

Just love this track, have been coming here right from the Inogural season! Probably been here 15-16 times. Bring your Sun tan lotion because you will get burnt, even on a 46° day. Probably will get rained on at least once while you are here, but have never been rained out! Get here early or you will have a long walk back to the car. "Ohh YEAH!" So if you do have to walk, do yourself a favor and don't carry a cooler down with you because you WON'T get in!

A beautiful house, church, banquet hall and outdoor space are here to experience with a delicious luncheon and entertainment. I have enjoyed this experience many times over the years and am delighted that it has reopened after Covid closings.

Great little gem. Beautiful plants. Nice place for a short walk around on a poor weather day. Clean bathrooms so a great stop on a road trip.
