Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Frank CFort Wayne56 contributionsWe had an hour to kill in Elmhurst and walked through their public library. This is a glimpse of what libraries should be. We are blessed with an excellent library in Fort Wayne but with a couple of exceptions Elmhurst has us beat.Written 5 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnnalinePark Ridge, IL7,157 contributionsThis place is very small and cute and I would love to give it a good review but I was very disappointed. I came here for flowers displays/expo (in January...it was very cold) which was advertised on their website. I showed a week before its closure - according to the website - but unfortunately it was either never there or it was closed before sooner and website was not updated....I just don't like surprises like that.Written 30 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angeline M17 contributionsI went with my sister also in her twenties and a 13 and a 4-year-old. It was enjoyable for all of us, I would recommend the Group-on deals also because the price was really worth it. It was 90-minutes which was a good amount of time because 40 minutes in my sister and I were exhausted but the kids keep going. It is a great way to spend time together and get kids to run around with no technology.Written 10 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jim JElmhurst, IL172 contributionsExcellent fields for play - soccer fields have sod OR astroturf for wet days. There's a water splash park for the young kids in summer and a good sledding hill for winter use.Written 17 October 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Previa1994Chicago, IL6,632 contributionsWent there for an evening walk in early September. Salt Creek Trail is an expansive trail system running through several suburbs in Chicago. This review is for the trail section that runs north-to-south from Sleepy Hollow Park in Elmhurst to Eldridge Park in Oak Brook. The trail runs on the east side of Salt Creek and the waters are visible most of the way. The total length of the beautiful trail is about 1.5 miles. The first half mile of the trail from the north is woodchip paved and the rest of the trail is asphalt paved. Along the way, there are placards explaining the function of the storm drainage pumping stations that keep Elmhurst safe from flooding. The trail is wooded most of the way, except near Eldridge Park. Eldridge Park is a vast community park with a variety of sports facilities. There is even a sledding hill with a paved walkway to the top of the hill.
Salt Creek Trail is indeed a thoroughly enjoyable trail. It is a great place for a physical work out or for a leisurely stroll.Written 5 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Located at 211 South Prospect Avenue in Chicago's western suburb, it was built as a treeless farm and garden spot in 1868. The estate, once carefully tended and landscaped by some of Elmhurst's most prominent families, including the King and Wilder families, was purchased by the Elmhurst Park District in 1921. The exterior of the building was completely changed during an eight-month remodeling project that was finished in 1936, adding pillars and a south wing. Over the years, the Wilder Mansion has changed through expansions and remodeling but has continued to remain a historical landmark within the Elmhurst community. Since 2008, the fully restored venue has been available for special events with a staff ready and prepared to make all of the necessary arrangements for weddings, anniversaries, receptions, corporate functions, meetings, showers, rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, banquets and brunches. One local survey acknowledged Wilder Mansion for "Best of Weddings 2021." The opportunities are endless. An exclusive list of pre-approved caterers is available to help party-givers take their event to the next level.Written 3 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnnalinePark Ridge, IL7,157 contributionsVery nice and decent size park with a lot to offer. A mansion to rent for your private party, an art museum, a conservator with a greenhouse and much much more.Written 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnnalinePark Ridge, IL7,157 contributionsVery cute little park but there is no parking next to it and it is very small and it is located by a very busy road. It is hard to get there if you not from the area. I believe most local people go there to walk their dog...what a pitty since the mormarila for Glos is very nice.Written 10 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
